Desmo450 MX Factory
The Desmo450 MX Factory edition follows one year after the introduction of Ducati’s first full-scale motocross model and is positioned as a race-ready version of the Desmo450 MX, equipped with higher-specification components for competition use.
Compared with the standard model, the Desmo450 MX Factory is lighter at 104 kg ready to ride without fuel, despite the addition of performance-focused hardware.

Ducati’s Desmo450 MX Factory features race-spec suspension, Akrapovič exhaust and a lighter overall package. Key upgrades include a full titanium Akrapovič exhaust system with dedicated engine mapping, Showa suspension with Dark Kashima coating and titanium oxide surface treatments, billet aluminium triple clamps and a standard-fit holeshot device.
Ducati’s off-road programme has gathered momentum over the past 12 months, highlighted by domestic competition success in Europe, MXGP podium finishes, and the brand’s first appearances at the highest levels of international motocross. The Factory version reflects Ducati’s intent to offer private riders access to components closely aligned with its racing machines.

The Desmo450 MX Factory uses a 449.6 cc single-cylinder engine with Ducati’s Desmodromic valve system. At the heart of the Desmo450 MX Factory is a 449.6 cc single-cylinder engine using Ducati’s Desmodromic valve system, a layout traditionally reserved for the brand’s road racing and MotoGP machinery. The system allows high engine speeds and extended over-rev while maintaining a broad torque curve. Ducati claims the engine produces 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm, with the rev limiter set at 11,900 rpm.
The Akrapovič exhaust reduces weight by approximately 1.7 kg and delivers a stronger torque curve between 4,000 and 7,500 rpm compared with the standard bike. Ducati says this improves acceleration while reducing rider fatigue over race distance.
The aluminium twin-spar frame is shared with the standard Desmo450 MX and weighs 8.95 kg, designed to balance rigidity and ease of maintenance.
The Showa suspension package includes fully adjustable 49 mm closed-cartridge forks with 310 mm of travel and a fully adjustable rear shock offering 301 mm of wheel travel. Both benefit from surface treatments aimed at improving smoothness and durability under race conditions.

Brembo braking system with single Galfer discs, 260 mm (front) and 240 mm (rear). Braking is handled by Brembo components with Galfer discs, measuring 260 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. Protection equipment fitted as standard includes a skid plate and front brake disc guard.
On the electronics front, Ducati bring serious credentials across to the dirt. The Desmo450 MX Factory includes Ducati Traction Control, Launch Control, Engine Brake Control, Quickshifter and two configurable Riding Modes. A standard Wi-Fi module allows adjustments via Ducati’s X-Link app, enabling riders to tailor engine and control settings to track conditions.
Handlebar controls and electronics on the Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory motocross bike. The Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory includes traction control, launch control and riding modes as standard. Maintenance intervals are competitive for the class, with piston replacement and valve-clearance checks scheduled at 45 hours and a full engine overhaul at 90 hours.
