Eli Tomac and His Bike
Another year, another season and another opportunity to refit the bar. The 2026 KTM SX-F FACTORY EDITIONs are ready to establish the reference once more as the basis of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s sharp entry in the 2026 Supercross and Motocross championships.
That can mean only one thing: primed race-based material and high-end technology. The principal 2026 feature is the application of new WP PRO COMPONENTS. Riders everywhere will not find a more cost-efficient way to put pumped-up race-proven tech specs and premium performance into their hands.

Race fans will know that the Eli Tomac, Aaron Plessinger and Jorge Prado will be the bright names in orange for the 450SX and 450MX classes while Julien Beaumer will be a contender in the 250 divisions. The tools? The 2026 KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION and KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION respectively.
Taking the exceptional and title-winning current platforms of the KTM 450 SX-F and KTM 250 SX-F – motorcycles that gathered main event victories in 2025 - the 2026 KTM SX-F FACTORY EDITIONs represent the ultimate competitive upscale.
What can customers expect beyond the ferocious power from the 47 hp and 63 hp mass-centralized, compact sub-27 kg engines? Also, the acute handling thanks to the light, hydro-formed, laser-cut and robot-welded frames with precision longitude and torsional flex, plus a polyamide reinforced aluminum 2-piece subframe and hollow, die-cast aluminum swingarm? Or how about race-bred detailing like CNC triple clamps, Brembo hydraulic clutch and Brembo brakes, ODI lock-on grips, wide, no-mud footrests, a Quickshifter, launch control and traction control? Not forgetting the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) for even more set-up possibilities.

Answer? Firstly, the components and tuning of WP PRO COMPONENTS as standard. The revised hardware and settings of the WP XACT PRO 7548 front fork and WP XACT PRO 8950 shock mean a significant modification for durability and feeling in tune with the pinpoint ergonomics of the 2026 KTM SX-F FACTORY EDITIONs.
This is the ultimate in suspension system technology, offering substantial possibilities for personalization and adjustment. The 48 mm fork has a unique cone valve system (shim-less) with a 310 mm stroke and 23 mm piston diameter. Riders, depending on their size and ability, can choose between 15 different spring rates, available at WP authorized centers.
Compression, rebound and damping can be tweaked to the millimeter, and the CUO and the KTMconnect App can also help in this regard. Count on comfort, response and the best protection from ‘bottoming’. The shock has the same glut of options to prioritize traction and stability. It weighs just over 4 kg to minimize unsprung mass and works in succinct harmony with the fork and chassis behavior. In short, KTM is now offering ‘factory’ suspension in production trim and available to all.

Elsewhere improvements with the KTM SX-F FACTORY EDITIONs can be felt in practicality and resistance against the gnarliest of track conditions thanks to a new radiator closure (also making for easier access) and a freshly designed protection cap for the fuel line quick-lock system. Careful engineering with the airbox, air filter and fuel injection along with collaboration with partner Akrapovic means the 109-decibel noise level, FIM compliant, can be met with the remodeled titanium silencer without loss of the trademark KTM SX-F torque and power.
The 2026 KTM SX-F FACTORY EDITIONs then benefit from the 2026 set of KTM PowerPart accessories. These serve as performance hikes to lose more weight or gain extra sturdiness as well as aesthetic touches.
They include the following:
- In-molded race plastics, with the CUO unit fitted in the front fender
- WP Suspension factory start device
- Factory frame protectors (bi-composite orange/black)
- Factory Racing triple clamps in orange
- Ribbed SDV factory seat cover for better weight and better resistance
- Grey, soft ODI lock-on grips
- Semi-floating front brake disc and factory carbon disc guard
- Factory carbon skid plate
- Factory wheel set (black DID DirtStar rims, black spokes, orange hubs, orange nipples)
- Dunlop GEOMAX tires (MX34)
- Orange Rear Sprocket and black engine mounts (black incl. cut outs) & Golden chain
- Hinson KTM Factory Racing outer clutch cover
Eli Tomac: So, it's my first time on a steel frame big bike, and of course it feels different,” Tomac confirmed. “I would say for me, the first time I rode it, it kind of just feels like there's an extra G on the bike. It's more planted to the ground. The other positive thing I like about this motorcycle is for me, it fits me really well. Like the triangle of the bike feels good. Foot pegs, bars, seat, just that connection to the bike is very, very fitting to me. So, it's been a nice transition to getting comfy.
To be completely honest, I was very surprised to see that option that these that this team made available was that cable clutch. And for me, I've been a cable guy my whole life. I've had a couple seasons where I've basically been forced to ride a hydraulic and I could never make it as good as I wanted it to, basically. And for my riding style, it's just the way I ride specifically on supercross and the way I slip out of turns and say up a steep ramp face for my technique, and also the whoops, I haven't been able to find a hydraulic that can do what a cable can do. And this team made me a cable clutch system.
