Kawasaki factory rider Romain Febvre has stopped the bleeding as he outpointed young Belgian, Lucas Coenen at the MXGP of Great Britain. The Frenchman known for his fighting spirit did a great job at maintaining his championship points lead, after Coenen has spent the last six weeks cutting the lead.

The points lead by Febvre over Coenen is now 32 points. Febvre went 3-1 for the win, with Lucas Coenen second with 2-3 and third was Glenn Coldenhoff with 1-5 scores.

Championship points are Romain Febvre 584pts, Lucas Coenen 552pts, Glenn Coldenhoff 411pts, Ruben Fernandez 383pts and Maxime Renaux 347pts.

Romain Febvre: As I said yesterday, I was feeling good on the track and the first moto I didn't get the start and the guys at front pulled away. I caught them but couldn't follow the pace after that. The second I took the holeshot and happy to win the race and the GP. I could ride free, take my own lines and make a gap. Fernandez came back at the end.

Lucas Coenen: I mean, I felt bad all weekend. Struggled big time and still today I didnt have the flow. I need to get used to the power. First moto I took the holeshot and then slipped over and the second moto Romain pushed me wide in the first corner, but I am happy to come out healthy.

Glenn Coldenhoff: The whole weekends was great. I felt good on the bike and I kept fighting and I didn't expect to be on the podium, I thought I had to pass Jeffrey to get on the podium. The mother of my best friend passed away last night and I want to give it up. She meant a lot to my fan club, but this is difficult news.

MXGP Moto Two

Febvre with the holeshot in MXGP moto two, followed by Fernandez, Coenen, Herlings, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Cairoli, Horgmo, Seewer and Forato 10th. Lap one it was Febvre with a 1.4 second lead over Fernandez, with Coenen 2.5 back and Herling 3.9 back.

Febvre getting away from Fernandez a little as the lead went to 2.5 seconds and Coenen and Herlings were also losing ground on the Kawasaki rider. Nothing else changing in the top ten. Febvre the best lap of the moto and really looking sharp, but Fernandez responded with the quickest time of his moto.

The lead by Febvre on lap six was 4.4 seconds over Fernandez and Coenen and Herlings were battling for third place, some six seconds back. The remaining top ten was Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Horgmo, Cairoli, Seewer and Forato. The racing continues to see a lack of passing or battles.

Watson and Sterry battling for 15th place as the two Brits try and give the crowd something to celebrate. On lap eight it was a lead of four seconds by Febvre over Fernandez, who was getting a big hurry up from Coenen as Herlings seems to have settled for fourth place. Coldenhoff catching Herlings and looking at getting second place on the podium.

Lap 12 it was Febvre with a 3.7 second lead over Fernandez, then Coenen 5.3 back, followed by Herlings, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Horgmo, Cairoli, Seewer and Forato. Febvre wins from Fernandez and Coenen. A great battling in the final laps between Herlings and Coldenhoff, as they finished fourth and fifth.
