  • Race Report

Kawasaki factory rider Romain Febvre isn’t going to sit back and watch the young Belgian Lucas Coenen win another GP and while Coenen did win the second MXGP moto, it was the Frenchman, who went 1-2 for the victory and again, extending his championship lead over Coenen. Second overall was Coenen with 4-1 and third overall was HRC man and Spanish hero, Ruben Fernandez with 3-4 results.

Romain Febvre: Yes, actually I made the holeshot and we are starting good, but on the second lap I jumped and it was sketchy and I wanted to take a line and missed it and crashed. Many guys passed me, but I found some good lines and now second victory this season, so I am very happy with this. First moto I managed the race and made a gap and won the moto, and the second one, I crashed on the downhill and it took me some time to get going again. Keeping the red plate and keep doing the good work.

Lucas Coenen: I said I needed a good start and I got a good jump, but Febvre was better and I was third, but then Romain crashed, but Romain was very strong. I am happy with a podium and everything is getting better.

Championship points are now Romain Febvre 386 points, Lucas Coenen 337pts, Tim Gajser 305pts, Glenn Coldenhoff 277pts and Ruben Fernandez 261pts.

MXGP Moto Two

Febvre slipped over and Coenen passed Vlaanderen quickly and moved into the lead in a huge pass on Vlaanderen. This Belgian kid is so talented and hungry.

Febvre really pushing again to get back to the front and looking a little sketchy. On lap two it was Coenen, Vlaanderen, Fernandez, Seewer, Guadagnini, Geerts, Febvre, Jonass, Bonacorsi and Pancar, with Herlings still in 11th.
