The FIM is pleased to announce the new FIM homologated helmets under the FRHPhe-02, including the new ALPINESTARS and BELL off-road models. The FIM applauds CABERG, SCORPION EXO, JUST1, ARAI, AGV, HJC, ALPINESTARS and BELL as they introduce additional FIM homologated helmets, under this new programme, which are permitted in FIM Championships with immediate effect. The ARAI helmet model comes with a JIS certification and the others with a standard ECE 22-06 certification. They have successfully passed all tests of the FIM Helmet Standard FRHPhe-02 that will be mandatory in 2026 in FIM championships.

The CABERG GP-01 helmet model is available in M & L sizes, the SCORPION EXO RACE AIR model in M, L, XL, XXL sizes, the JUST1 J-GP R model in L size, the ARAI RX-7X FIM RACING#2 model in XS, S, M, L, XL sizes, the AGV PISTA GP RR FIM RACING#2 in M size, the HJC RPHA 1 V2 CARBON model in XXS, XS, M, L, XL, XXL, the ALPINESTARS S-M10 helmet model and the BELL MOTO 10-GP are available in M and L sizes with the homologation being confirmed by the presence of the FIM homologation label sewn on the chin strap.

Currently we have several manufacturers involved with our laboratory for testing, sixteen for the FRHPhe-02 off-road helmet models and nineteen for the circuit racing helmet models.
As a reminder, the phase 02 of the FIM Racing Homologation Programme for helmets (FRHPhe-02) was launched in November 2022. This new phase is equally focused on Off-Road helmets, thus marking an important step for safety in Motocross, Enduro, Speedway and Cross-Country disciplines, with the first FIM standard for FIM Off-Road Championships.

From the outset the aim of the FRHPhe-02 was to improve riders’ head protection in other disciplines. This phase 02 has been established, with the collaboration of the helmet manufacturers in 2022, in order to define a new standard that goes above and beyond the existing ones on the market (e.g., UN ECE 22.06, Snell M2020, JIS T8133), and above the FRHPhe-01.

Relative to the standards previously referred to, the FRHPhe-02 standards have undergone an enhanced and more complete evaluation of their performance, in addition to being previously certified as compliant with an international standard. This includes new threshold requirements and new impacts and tests, such as new impact tests against oblique anvils, impact tests against hemispherical anvils (to measure rotational solicitations generated in impacts), a quick-removal cheek pad test, and the introduction of a Skull Fracture Criterion (SFC).
