Gajser in For Sweden
Five time world motocross champion, Tim Gajser has announced on social media that he is in for the Swedish Grand Prix. The HRC factory man who was leading the MXGP points standings by a huge margin crashed in Switzerland and has missed the last nine GPs.
Tim Gajser: Hey guys, yesterday I had the last check with my doctors and I got the green light to go racing, so see you in Uddevalla.
His return follows the return of Jeffrey Herlings in last weekends Lommel GP and now the MXGP championship might get a little more interesting. If Gajser and Herlings can get between the two title contenders, Romain Febvre and Lucas Coenen.
Febvre and Coenen are seperated by just nine points with five rounds remaining. While it might take both Herlings and Gajser a round or two to be fighting for GP wins, those last four rounds of the series in Arnhem, Turkey, China and Australia will be fireworks.
Gajser has a great record at the Swedish circuit of Uddevalla finishing third in MX2 in 2014, he won in 2015, then put together a second place in 2022 and was second again in 2024.
