Geerts in For Lierop 2026
In just over a month, the Dutch motocross season will kick off in Lierop. For the fourth time, the Dutch MX Season Opener will be held on March 1 at the demanding sand circuit, and once again it promises to be a spectacular event.
The week has started well, as we received the great news that Belgian top rider Jago Geerts will be coming to Lierop. Geerts has participated in all previous Dutch MX Season Openers in Lierop and will also be on the gate again this year.
This winter, Geerts made the switch to Beta and feels very much at home on the bike. He has had an excellent winter so far and is determined to set things right this year in the MXGP World Championship. In the MX2 class, Geerts secured no fewer than 24 Grand Prix victories, but later endured two difficult seasons in the MXGP class due to injury setbacks.
In Lierop, Geerts will face strong competition from riders such as Romain Febvre, Jeffrey Herlings, Kay de Wolf and Glenn Coldenhoff. With the addition of Liam Everts to the entry list, we can also guarantee that the MX2 class will be highly competitive.
For those who still wish to participate, be quick as the classes are filling up fast. Please note that registration will not be available via the License2Race app, but exclusively through the following link:http://maclierop.nl/inschrijven
