Herlings in For Lierop
The Dutch MX Season Opener in Lierop promises to be a spectacular start to the motocross season. On Sunday, March 1, several world-class riders will line up at the gate, already making the event an absolute must-see for motocross fans.
Five-time world champion Jeffrey Herlings will take to the iconic sand circuit of Lierop. He will face strong competition from Romain Febvre, the reigning MXGP World Champion. Glenn Coldenhoff, who has been a consistent force among the world’s elite in MXGP in recent years, will also be competing in Lierop.
Kay de Wolf holds an unbeaten record in Lierop, having won all three previous Dutch MX Season Openers in the MX2 class. The Dutch rider was crowned MX2 World Champion in 2024 but will make the move up to the MXGP class in 2026. As a result, he will already be going head-to-head in Lierop with Herlings, Febvre, and Coldenhoff.
With this impressive rider line-up, the Dutch MX Season Opener underlines its status as one of the most important preparatory races of the year.
Fans can look forward to motocross at the very highest level on the demanding sand of Lierop.
