In front of a nice sized crowd, HRC factory rider, Jeffrey Herlings is just making the season a procession of wins as he took out the MXGP qualification race in China this afternoon. The Dutchman just cruised to the win and never looked in trouble, despite 2025 world champion, Romain Febvre keeping him honest throughout the moto.

As is always the case as the season winds down and a world champion has already been crowned, the MXGP qualification race today was anything but a modest race. Despite a well-prepared circuit, the vibe was clear that the season is nearly over and we look towards the MXoN at Ernee in early October.

Jeffrey Herlings: It was good. I feel good and topped every practice and laps. The track is still enjoyable, but its easier than last year.

MXGP Qualification Race

Herlings led the opening lap of MXGP qualification race ahead of Romain Febvre, Vialle, Pancar, Adamo, Geerts, Vlaanderen, Walsh, Seewer, and Monticelli. After three laps Herlings lead over Febvre was just a second, with Vaille 3.7 behind in third place. A very depleted field with Hsu and Yushang in 12th and 14th on the Chinese factory machines.

Febvre keeping Herlings honest as he chased the HRC man, and Seewer and Jonass were in a nice battle for 8th and 9th positions. Despite a lack of entries, still a deep field inside the top ten. Herlings seemingly has the race in control and just allowing Febvre to remain close.

Vialle closing up on Febvre and Herlings, but still, the feeling is, Herlings is just doing enough to remain in the lead. Herlings continues to look better and better on the Honda as he takes the win from the two Frenchmen, Febvre and Vialle.
