HRC factory rider, Hunter Lawrence has won the Ironman AMA National with a 2-2 performance after brother Jett who should have won the overall with a 3-1 performance but was given a ridiculous penalty for jumping the start in moto one and being docked a complete lap, thus ending with an official result of 17-1.

Hunter Lawrence: I don't know, I don't have energy to be emotional. I am so hot, I am finished. It is good to get the monkey off my back. Just, grit, determination and will power. It wasn't fun.

Jett Lawrence: Wasn't my best day. AMA had their rules, but the most important thing is HL got an overall win. I have been a pain in the ass for him. I had a good flow in the second one and I blacked out, because I was so pissed off. I had some good lines, but wasn't happy with my laps. Hopefully I feel like a pro next week.

Jorge Prado: To honest, I have been riding supercross in the break, preparing for SMX and this morning we found something that helped me a lot and it was a good step to keep building. Looks like today I am riding a bit more like myself.

You would have to think HRC will request that the AMA reverse their decision, as Lawrence did get an advantage, but only when he broke through the gate, but within inches of the riders blasting out of the gate, his advantage was quickly gone as the broken gate caused him to come out of the first metre, without an advantage.

Chase Sexton, who won moto one from a poor start was charging through the field in moto two and was looking likely to getting top three, but then crashed out of the moto and damaged his KTM machine, DNFing the moto.

Second overall was R. J. Hampshire 3-4 and third was Eli Tomac 6-3. Jorge Prado had a good day with 5-6 performances.

In the 250 class Haiden Deegan won with 1-1, Jo Shimoda was second with 2-2 and third was Tom Vialle with 3-3 scores.
