Jacobi Wins Saturday ADAC
Henry Jacobi achieved his first race win of the season in the ADAC MX Masters. Bence Pergel wins for the first time in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Ryan Oppliger extends his lead in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 with a race win.
The numerous fans in Jauer experienced thrilling duels on Saturday at the penultimate event of the ADAC MX Masters in glorious summer weather. In the ADAC MX Masters, Henry Jacobi (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) defeated Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) in the last lap.
Bence Pergel (HU/HTS KTM) won for the first time in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup after a varied race. In the first race of the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85, Ryan Oppliger (CH/Oppliger Racing Sàrl) extended his lead in the championship with a race win. Maximilian Ernecker (A/F4E Gasgas Junior Racing) took pole position for Sunday's races in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125.
Dennis Ullrich (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) initially sprinted to the top with the Red Bull Holeshot, but was pushed out of there by championship leader Max Nagl and Henry Jacobi in the first lap. Cornelius Töndel (NO/Schmicker Racing) and the LS2 Best Qualifier Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) followed suit in the next two laps.
The quartet dominated the action at the front, while Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) had to fight his way to the front after starting in the midfield and Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team) had to fight his way to the front after a crash at the start. Nagl and Jacobi gradually pulled away from their pursuers as the race progressed. Jacobi kept up the pressure for the entire race distance, to the delight of the spectators. On the last lap, he managed to overtake shortly after the pit lane to take his first race win of the season ahead of Nagl, Töndel, Tixier and Jakub Teresak (CZ/Enduro Koch Racing).
"I had the feeling from the start that I could go a little faster than Max, but I lost some time during attacks in the first few laps. So I managed to ration my energy, but I wasn't sure whether someone would come up behind us. I attacked again at the end, but to be honest I didn't think the race would end with my victory. 'Boring' is not something I can describe, but this moment feels right after all the ups and downs this year," said a distraught Henry Jacobi during the winner's interview.
In the first race of the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, Bence Pergel took the lead with the Red Bull Holeshot ahead of Nicolai Skovbjerg (DK/Wozniak MX Racing Team) and Martin Venhoda (CZ/Mefo Sport - Q Racing Team). Skovbjerg took the lead halfway through the race, but crashed on the penultimate lap. Pergel inherited the top position and held on to it to the finish despite pressure from Venhoda and Jaroslav Katrinak (SK/MRA Racing Team). Two German pilots, Leon Rudolph (D/Enduro Koch Racing) and Tom Schröder (D/Gasgas), rounded out the top five. Leader of the table Nico Greutmann (CH/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna) finished the race in ninth place, but of his closest rivals, only Pergel made up ground in the championship. Bradley Mesters (NL/Kosak Racing Team) dropped out of the first race after four laps and Dave Kooiker (NL/Schmicker Racing) did not start in Jauer due to injury.
"That was my first race win in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup, which I have been working towards all year. The track was very difficult and I lost my rhythm a bit after the initial win. At the end, I almost ruined the success myself with a mistake, but I am now very happy that it worked out," said a very satisfied Bence Pergel, who moved up to second place in the table.
On Saturday, the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 was about qualifying for the two races on Sunday. In the time trial, leader of the table Maximilian Ernecker drove the fastest time and can choose the starting position tomorrow ahead of Aron Katona (HU/HTS KTM) and Vaclav Janout (CZ).
Lucas Leok (EST/Team #111) took the best starting position with the Red Bull Holeshot, but got stuck in a tight corner after half a lap, couldn't get his bike started and dropped out. The leader of the table Ryan Oppliger seized the opportunity and took the lead from Jekab before the end of the first lap.
