A returning advertiser for MXlarge in 2023 is OMX Graphics, a very impressive company that is growing at an alarming rate. Janis Kokorevics is the business manager of OMX Graphics Ltd and we wanted to get to know him a little better and what better way than introduce him to our readers via an interview.

MXLarge: Can you tell me a little about yourself. Your background and interests?

Janis: First of all - I'm the founder of OMX Graphics, coolest dirt bike graphics out there :) My passion for design and motorbikes led me to start this business in 2011. As a rider myself, I've always been dedicated to maintaining my bike properly. However, I found that the available graphics options were disappointing at that point. That inspired me to create my own graphics kit using high quality material and unique design. Have to mention that I own a rather large printing company, so it was not that complicated for me to experiment with materials, colors and all the other related stuff. And when I saw the result it was just obvious to offer affordable and durable graphics to other riders worldwide.

MXLarge: What got you into the sport of motocross?

Janis: I was super active and a bit crazy kid, so I started riding at young age. As a lover of speed and adrenaline, motocross was a natural fit for me. The thrill of riding dirt bikes and pushing the limits always fascinated me.

MXLarge: Do you follow the sport a lot. Maybe the MXGP series, AMA racing, rally. What is the part of the sport you enjoy the most and where do you see problems in the sport of the positives?

Janis: Yes, I do follow main events like MXGP and AMA racing, as well as some enduro racing competitions. The part of the sport I enjoy the most is witnessing the incredible talent and skill showed by the riders. One problem I see in the sport is the risk of injuries - motocross is an extreme sport, and safety measures should always be a priority to minimize the potential risks.

MXLarge: Starting any business is always tough and everyone is different how they see what is needed to make a business work. What were the things that you felt were needed to make your business work?

Janis: I believe that it is crucial for any business to focus on three key aspects: quality, service, and affordability. In my case, I wanted to create graphics that stood out from the competition by offering exceptional durability and unique designs. Additionally, I aimed to make them affordable to a wide range of riders. Adapting to the latest printing and cutting technologies is a thing that plays big role. Investing in skilled staff is crucial. A lot of things, actually, need to line up to keep business running and be successful.

MXLarge: What are the most difficult things about having a business involving motorcycles?

Janis: I would not say that running a business is hard. I prefer to say it's challenging. One of the most important aspects is to keep an aye on rapidly evolving trends in industry, I would say. Staying ahead of the competition requires continuous innovation and the ability to adapt to changing customer preferences. Additionally, maintaining a close relationship with suppliers, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of products can also be challenging time to time. But all that's normal, otherwise, it wouldn't be interesting :)

MXLarge: The market is a tough one, with many graphic's companies, some very good and some very average. How exciting is it to have the type of graphics you have and what type of team do you have to make the graphics so special?

Janis: It's indeed an exciting and competitive market, but our graphics have set us apart from many due to price-performance aspect as well as the customer service. We take great pride in delivering exceptional designs and quality to our customers. Our team consists of skilled designers and project managers that have deep understanding of motocross aesthetics and trends. They work closely with our customers to create personalized dirt bike graphics that meet their needs. Our printing and cutting team utilizes state-of-the-art equipment worth a small fortune to ensure the highest quality possible.

MXLarge: Obviously we seem to have recovered well from the Covid period and what was a credit crisis. How do you feel the industry has moved forward from this period and did you have to do anything differently to move forward?

Janis: Covid time was special, indeed. But I would say for online business like mine it was the best year so far. I'm not saying that Covid is good, but you know... :)) Industry is moving forward fast, so we need to keep up with it. As well as all of us are facing different google issues, updates, ranking changes, new trends etc...in one word - it's tough. A lot of job has to be done in background.

MXLarge: What gives you the most pleasure from working in the industry?

Janis: Great question. Besides we've sold over 36'000 kits through out these years, I just love seeing our designs come to life on so many bikes all over the planet. It's fantastic to have such a credit of trust in our motocross graphics and we'll keep up the good work!
