Jason Anderson - My Paris

Posted on November 19, 2018

When Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider Jason Anderson finished with the King of Paris trophy, there was little surprise, as the AMA supercross champion he went in as the heavy favourite. With no Marvin Musquin, no Eli Tomac and pretty much none of the contenders for the 450 class in USA, it was a walk in the park for the current AMA champ.

“It was a great weekend,” Anderson said. “It was awesome to come here and the French fans were fantastic. I raced hard with everyone and it wasn’t easy, but we had a good time. It is great training and these guys are fast and these races help me improve my race craft.”

Anderson did pay respect to the new guys on the block, Zach Osborne, Dylan Ferrandis and Justin Hill, as they fought hard to keep the champ in sight.

“These guys are so fast, I mean Zach, Dylan, Justin Hill, these guys are going to be fast. I am not surprised (how fast Ferrandis was) with superpole and those things, everyone is fast, and Dylan is fast at that and he is getting better. He is coming next year and he will be better, so I need to up my game. The crowd seem enthusiastic and I hope they have me back and hopefully next year we will have Marvin, so we can race each other.

Anderson looks back on Paris though with a good feeling and can now head back to USA and prepare for the defence of his AMA championship.

“The race was tough with some close racing on both nights and I’m happy with the overall win. The motos were short and I had to work a bit harder to make things happen. My lap times were not that good in qualifying and the superpole, but I was very happy with my speed in the motos and that’s what matters the most. I showed some good racecraft this weekend and that’s positive. I’m heading back to the US now. I hope I can come back even stronger for A1.”
