Jason Anderson will step away from supercross for the time being, due to some personal issues.

"I want to speak directly about the recent situation. I take full responsibility for my actions, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt they’ve caused my wife, and family. We are asking for privacy right now as my focus needs to be on my family. I’m stepping away indefinitely to give them my full attention and to work on being the husband and father they deserve."

Pipes Motorsports Group (PMG) has announced that Twisted Tea Suzuki’s Jason Anderson is stepping away from Monster Energy Supercross ‘for an indefinite period to address personal, family, and ongoing medical matters’.

Anderson, 33, sat out Daytona over the weekend due to what the team described as ‘ongoing medical issues’.

It later emerged that he had been arrested in December in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident. It is unclear if the situation is related, however, the PMG team has formally confirmed today that 2018 450SX champion Anderson won’t be returning to his RM-Z450 at this time:

‘Pipes Motorsports Group announces that rider Jason Anderson will be stepping away from Supercross competition for an indefinite period to address personal, family, and ongoing medical matters. This decision was made jointly by Jason and his management team in coordination with the organization. Pipes Motorsports Group respects Jason and his family’s privacy and fully supports his decision. No further statements will be made at this time.’

Anderson is ranked 10th in the premier class standings despite missing Daytona, previously recording a season-best result of fourth at Anaheim 2. He missed a large portion of the SMX World Championship in 2025 through illness, before departing Monster Energy Kawasaki and being reunited with Suzuki for this year within the PMG organization.
