Jeffrey Herlings - British Champion
Five time World motocross champion, Jeffrey Herlings might not have won himself a World motocross title in 2024, but he has scored himself his first ever British motocross championship. In a brilliant season in England, the Dutchman scored 2-1 results today to claim not only the overall for the day, but also the 2024 British 450 championship, having pipped defending champion, Conrad Mewse, who scored 1-2 results, with Josh Gilbert third overall with 3-3.
Mewse, as he has shown in England was able to beat Herlings in the opening moto and did it with a massive 29 second lead. Herlings though came back strong in the second moto, winning by 3.1 seconds and showing that when it comes to winning, he has done a great job in the British championship.
Herlings will now head to Spain for the final round of the MXGP championship of 2024 and while he still has a mathematical chance of winning title, it would need both Jorge Prado and Tim Gajser to have serious problems there.
The Bullet will then head to Matterley Basin in the first weekend of October and try and help The Netherlands take their second Chamberlain Trophy.
