HRC factory rider Jett Lawrence is just incredible, another 1-1 Outdoors to match Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart for 24-0 winning streak. The Aussie just keep piling up wins and moving up the all-time lists. He spoke to the media, and this is what he told them.

MXLarge: You bike was very active in the rear end. Did you guys mess up a bit with the set-up. Still, you made it look easy when you go 1-1, but if the bike isn’t working, does that make it harder for you?

Lawrence: I think definitely, when the bike isn’t working like you want it to, you have to put a bit more of an effort to hold it down. So, you need to adjust for that and use that bit more strength to hold it. The first moto was the worst, I was at a bit of a limit, and I couldn’t push too hard. I could push hard at the start, when the bumps weren’t at their worst, but it got more difficult when the track got rough. We got it sorted for the second one, kind of went to the front a little more, but we were thankful we could push.

MXLarge: You got the win, so you are now 24-0 and not 22-0 as many people mentioned last year (that RC and Stewart were 24-0 in their perfect seasons). How does that feel.

Lawrence: It was good to go 24-0 to match Ricky and James. We will go back to the drawing board, look at some stuff, improve that, but also improve myself. In supercross we are a bit heavier with our legs and we don’t move them as much, because we have such stiff suspension, so we try and get the suspension to work more. Outdoors we use our legs a lot more. Throughout the season we will get my legs working more.

MXLarge: You have never lost an overall here (Fox Raceway), what makes the track good for you?

Lawrence: I don’t know, I am not a big fan of the track. It is a one-way streak with the love side of things. I think, I guess we gel with the starts here and gel with the track I spent a lot of days here on the 250 in 2021 and I am not sure if that gives me anything different on race day. I don’t know, I might just get lucky here. We are happy about it, that’s for sure.

MXLarge: On TV, they made a point of you doubling one of the jumps and just hitting the top of it to get a good run down the hill. When did you find that, and do you feel it made a difference when gapping the field?

Lawrence: I found that today and I was pumped. That kind of stuff sometimes happens be accident or kind of you can see it working in and try it. I got it a few times and it got pretty finicky, because you have to hit a run and when you do it more and more, you kind of get a side kick on it. I got a little hairy one lap. You see it and imagine you can do it and its pretty nice.
