Jorge Prado dominated the 2024 MXGP of Sweden, securing his first-ever MXGP victory on Swedish soil with a flawless 1-1 result. Simon Längenfelder added to GASGAS's success with a double holeshot and his fourth consecutive podium in MX2.

He came, he saw, and he conquered! Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team’s Jorge Prado delivered a spectacular performance at the revamped Uddevalla MX track, Glimminge Motorstadion, securing his first-ever victory on Swedish soil with a dominant 1-1 result. This victory not only marked his 13th win of the season but also brought him within 17 points of championship rival Tim Gajser.

Come Sunday, Prado kicked it up a gear again, overcoming a tough start that briefly saw him drop to 5th. By lap ten, he had fought his way back to 3rd, and within just two more laps, he astonishingly reclaimed the lead. With two laps remaining, Prado expertly navigated the treacherous dark, rocky soil, creating an 8-tenths-of-a-second gap over Gajser. Securing his 13th win of the season at the flag, Prado set the perfect tone for the second and final moto of the day.

Prado kicked off the second moto with a bang, seizing the lead right from the start and never looking back. As the fastest rider on the track, he quickly built a commanding 3-second lead, delivering a masterful performance that left his rivals in the dust. Not only did he secure the race win, but he also claimed the fastest lap award, completing the double in spectacular fashion. This victory marked his first-ever triumph on Swedish soil and further narrowed the championship gap to just 17 points behind Gajser, sealing the double with style.

Jorge Prado: “I’m so happy to finally get back on top of the box! I knew I had to ride at absolute 100% to get the overall win here. I made it a little tough for myself in the first moto with the very bad start, but in the second moto I managed to get out of the gate much better and brake hard into the first corner. I put in some good opening laps and just tried to manage the pace. The track was very tough too - you had to be super accurate; but overall I’m just super happy! Let’s move on to the sand, and hopefully get another win over there! Thanks to the whole Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team - let’s go for the championship!”
