While Jorge Prado came up short at the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, when he was defeated by MXGP world champion, Jeffrey Herlings, the four time world motocross champion handled everyone in USA in the two previous races to the Nations.

There is no doubt, when A1 comes around in January, the Red Bull KTM factory rider will be one of the favourites to take victory. Winning the AMA SMX championship is a step in the right direction, and beating names like Jett and Hunter Lawrence, Ken Roczen, Haiden Deegan, Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb sure must have given Prado huge confidence entering 2027.

Here is a really cool gallery as Prado wins the AMA SMX championship. After his horrible Kawasaki USA experience, the Spaniard has once again risen to the very top of the world.

On the Mental Comeback: Prado called it “one of the most beautiful titles I could achieve” after a difficult 2025 season where he lost his ride, noting: “That is what champions do right, they bounce back. I’m a four-time world champion for a reason. I think I showed them in this last moto, it isn’t over until it’s over.”

On Racing vs. Haiden Deegan: Responding to physical on-track battles and post-race back-and-forth, Prado criticized block-pass riding styles: “When you race with that mentality, normally you end up bad. When you race clean, you have a lot of things in your favor.”

On Motivation: Addressing criticisms about financial incentives, Prado stated: “I’m not racing for the money like he is. I’m racing with passion, and I’m racing because I love the sport.”

On His Support System: Prado credited his return to Red Bull KTM, saying: “You need the right people around you and I am surrounded by the best and that’s why we make things happen.”
