Kay De Wolf - MX2 Leader
When you look at a handful of riders in the MX2 class, we can see that the sport is in good hands. These young kids coming through are obviously young because of the age rule and many of them are as talented a group as we have seen in the 250 class.
Led by Dutchman, Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider, Kay De Wolf, the top five or six are just beautiful to watch, with styles that have grown since the 1990s, when the class had many riders who were clearly European styled riders and when it came to supercross, none of them would have made it, but now, the technical side of these riders is at a very high level and none higher than De Wolf.
Many would love to see him try supercross, even if its just some European races and maybe a round or two of the World supercross, but with a tough 2024 behind him, its hard to see him do anything other than rest up and take a good few months off the bike. De Wolf spoke to the World media Sunday and this is what he told them about his victory in Switzerland.
Injury and Winning
After yesterday, you saw it yourself, it didn’t look very good. I managed to win today and great points in the championship. It was a good day for me, riding was good. It was a great day, but it didn't start well after yesterday and I fought through a lot of pain, but I am happy with this day, it’s a massive day for me.
Being Consistent
The second race wasn't as easy as the first one. The first few guys were really fast, and I was struggling with my pace a little bit, but I brought it home safe and gained some massive points in the championship. So that's what it's all about and yeah, I'm really happy. I can't do it without this team. They do an amazing job for me day in day out. So yeah, I really appreciate it and now on to the next one in Türkiye!
The Final Three Rounds
I am just going to attack and keep attacking. I feel okay, but I don’t know how I will feel tomorrow morning, but we still have two weeks before Turkey and I will be okay by then.
