Kayden Minear - Aussie on Fire
Kayden Minear is an Aussie on the move and while he might be just at the start of his career, he is doing everything what is needed. Here is his first ever youtube video and its a good well done.
At just 17 years old, Minear is one of the hottest young motocross and supercross prospects out there. In 2024, the Australian ProMX MX2 vice champion will burst onto the world stage as a WSX Wildcard rider. A Perth local, the WSX Australian GP will be the closest thing to a home race that Minear can experience as he takes on the best of the best in the series’ SX2 class.
After dominating the “Next” class at round two of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown in Northern California, Minear took a bold step forward in his racing career, lining up in the 250 class at round three in Colorado.
The Star Yamaha rookie has been training alongside teammates like Hayden Deegan and Michael Mosiman, but racing shoulder to shoulder with them in a national round was a whole new level. Still, Minear took it in his stride, showing poise beyond his years.
Across two gruelling motos, the Western Australian posted 18-12 results to land 16th overall on debut. He looked set for a top-ten finish in the opening race, but a late crash dropped him back several places. Despite that setback, he bounced back strongly in the second race.
“I had been waiting for this moment my whole life, and it was so good to race my first national as a pro,” Minear said. “I rode over my head in race one and crashed out of eleventh late in the race, but then rode better in race two to finish in twelfth for sixteenth overall. I’m not stoked on the way that I rode, so I will get back to work this week, so I’m prepared for this weekend at High Point.”
At the High Point National, Minear suffered a thumb injury that would require surgery. In his second U.S. Pro Motocross start, the Australian native had a crash in qualifying and suffered the thumb injury. He was set to race this weekend’s Southwick National but will undergo surgery instead, sidelining him for the immediate future. In two Pro Motocross events, Minear scored moto finishes of 12-12-20-15 with overall finishes of 16th and 18th, respectively.
