At the sixth race of the ADAC MX Masters "Auf der Wacht" in Gaildorf, Tom Koch (D/Kosak Racing Team) won the event ranking in very good racing conditions and with numerous fans ahead of Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) and Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team), each of whom achieved a race win over the weekend. Max Nagl (D/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) did not make the podium for the first time this season, but still extended his lead in the championship.

Tom Koch was the only driver to make it onto the podium in each of the three races over the weekend. He started on Saturday in second place ahead of Red Bull Holeshot winner Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), where he kept up with the race winner's pace until the end. He finished the second race, which was held on Sunday, in third place again, close to the leaders. With the victory in the third race, Koch secured his first overall victory of the current season and moved up to second place in the championship.

"It's great to finally be back on the top of the podium after the dry spell with the back injury at the start of the season. This year the field of riders is very close together and putting together three good races in one weekend is not easy. But I've always liked Gaildorf and with the fun of driving I guess the good results will come," Koch beamed at the awards ceremony.

On Saturday, Jordi Tixier initially proved his strength as LS2 Best Qualifier on the firm surface in Gaildorf. With the victory in the first race, his first for him this season, he underlined his performance from qualifying. In the second race, he drove from fifth place after the start to the rear wheel of the race winner, but could not find a way past him until the finish.

In the third race, he was pushed off the start and only came out of the starting lap in the front midfield. His comeback ended in fourth place behind Jakub Teresak (CZ/Enduro Koch Racing), who thus achieved his second race podium of the year. With second place in Gaildorf, Tixier has caught up with Max Nagl's closest rivals in the championship.

"Overall, I am satisfied with the result and my performance because we were all very close together. With the race win, I showed that I have the pace to win and, despite already having had three retirements this year, being in the top group of the championship shows my strength. I want to use the remaining races to get as far forward as possible," said Tixier happily.

Even though Gaildorf was the first event this season where Max Nagl did not finish on a race or overall podium, he extended his championship lead. He is now 112 points ahead of Koch, Maximilian Spies (D/Kosak Racing Team), Tixier and Adam Sterry (GB/Schmicker Racing). This means that Nagl could win the championship early at the next event in Jauer.

Even without a podium finish, it was a positive weekend for me. I struggled with bad starts and a crash on Saturday that was not my fault. In the second race, I had problems with my bike while in the lead and had to reduce the pace. But as we all know, championships are won on your bad days. I extended my lead in Gaildorf and am therefore happy with the weekend," said Nagl.

The 2021 ADAC MX Youngster Cup Champion Marcel Stauffer made his debut in the ADAC MX Masters class in Gaildorf and proved that he is one of the best there too. The Austrian impressed with a high pace and good fitness after a serious cervical spine injury last year.

In the first race on Saturday, he led in the first few laps before falling back to seventh place with hard forearms. In the second run, he took the lead from Nagl halfway through the race after the latter had a problem with his motorcycle.

Despite the pressure from Tixier, Stauffer kept his nerve until the finish and won the race. In the third run, Stauffer was not shaken off by the leading Koch for a long time. It was only in the last few laps that a gap of a few seconds opened up. With second place in this race, Stauffer climbed to the third step of the podium in Gaildorf.

"It is indescribable to be on the podium straight away in my first ADAC MX Masters race. It is just cool to realize that all the hard work of the last few months is paying off. I prepare my motorcycle completely by myself during the week and still manage to perform as well as the established top riders in the series. Many thanks to everyone who supports me," said Stauffer, celebrating his success.
