While Team Australia are one of the early favourites for the 2024 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, HRC have informed mxlarge that the Australian MX2 rider, Kyle Webster will not be racing a factory machine at Matterley Basin, as he isn't a HRC backed rider.

With both Lawrence brothers setting up under the HRC tent for the October event, as an Aussie, I was hoping the Australian team would be full HRC factory, but that isn't the way Japan does things. The third Australian in Team Australian will however be racing for the Australian factory Honda team again in 2025, after making a new deal for racing in Australia in 2025.

“I have been with Honda for seven years and we have achieved some terrific results. Yarrive and I have a great relationship; we communicate so well and share the same goals. The bike is great, and the team is focused on winning. I appreciate the trust they have in me, and it’s mutual,” said Webster.

Webster leads the Australian Motocross Championship. While this isn’t his first time leading the MX1 class, it’s the first time he has done so with one round remaining.

“My aim is to win, but nothing fazes me. I do my work during the week and feel well prepared. It’s going to be a fight till the end, and I love it. I really love racing and battling,” continued Webster.

The leading MX1 racer in Australia recently went to America to race and learn. He will return there after the final round of the Australian Championship to prepare for the MX of Nations, a competition he is very proud to be chosen for.

Team Director Yarrive Konsky values the strong relationship he has with Kyle and is excited about continuing to race with him in the future.

“I never worry about his commitment to racing; he’s always striving to improve. This season, we’ve seen significant maturity in his approach, and I believe the upcoming months in America will only further his development. We share a strong, open, and trusting relationship, and I know he holds himself accountable for his performance and results—there’s nothing more I could ask for,” said Yarrive.

The Factory Honda Team plans to announce its 2025 line-up in the coming months. Wilson Todd is already contracted for another season, and the team is hopeful that some of their riders will receive opportunities to race overseas.
