Langenfelder Quickest
Around a beautifully prepared circuit in Cordoba, Argentina and in front of already a large crowd, the MX2 boys went out for their timed practice. With sunshine the track started getting harder and harder and if it does rain tomorrow, it might turn into a skating ring.
What has become a really stacked field, Simon Langenfelder clocked the quickest time for this afternoons MX2 qualifier, and will start on pole, while Austrian bikes held the top four with Langenfelder, Sasha Coenen, Andrea Adamo and Kay De Wolf.
Early in the time practice Cas Valk was quick, as was Liam Everts, both clocking times around 1.48. De Wolf went quickest with a time of 1.47.358 and Mathis Valin went second quickest with a similar time to De Wolf. Good to see new GP man Guillem Farres fourth fastest early.
Sasha Coenen made the quickest time after having to go to the mechanics area to make some changes to his tyre from the scoop to the brand new tyre and his time of 1.46.445 was very impressive. Valin a good time to go past De Wolf, as the French Kawasaki factory rider did a 1.47.307. Liam Everts after starting quick had dropped to 14th place.
Former World champion Andrea Adamo clocked the second quickest time with a 1.46.478 and another KTM man, Simon Langenfelder went third fastest as factory KTM machines were owning the times practice. Everts did a 1.48.301 to go 10th fastest, not bad considering his lack of bike time. Both Triumph riders inside the top ten with McLellan fourth quickest and Farres 8th fastest.
Langenfelder takes the quickest time with a 1.45.260 and KTM continued to own the practice. Coenen a quick lap late, but couldn’t top the time of Langenfelder. Everts 14th quickest and Elzinga 15th.
