Lawrence and Deegan - SMX

No surprised as Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan win the 2024 SMX 450 and 250 championships. Jett Lawrence showed why he might not only be the fastest man on the planet, but also the smartest.

Jeff Lawrence: Yes, this obviously means a lot to the family and the team, that outdoor season really stung and it makes it more special with Hunter and I going 1-2. I think dad should be pretty happy with this one.

His 1-1 performance was typical Jett Lawrence and his brother Hunter scoring 3-2 showed that the Aussie brothers might continue to run the sport in USA. The Aussie brothers both finished with 156 points in total, but the younger brother got the championship victory with his final round win.

Good to see Eli Tomac third overall for the day with 2-3 and two Team USA riders, Aaron Plessinger and Cooper Webb being next up. Plessinger went 4-4 and Webb 6-5.

Gotta feel for Chase Sexton, who only was landed on and failed to finish the race and then DNS the second moto due to a right hand injury, of which he will get a doctor to take a look and make a decision about the MXoN. His place on Team USA might not be under some question. Will Haiden Deegan finally line up, and move Cooper Webb to the 450. Come on Danger Boy!!!!

Speaking of Deegan, also no surprise he won the 250 class overall. His 1-2 score was enough to take the championship, but what a ride by Pierce Brown, who won the day with 2-1 and third was Jordon Smith with 5-3 finishes.

International riders finished just off the podium with Jo Shimda going 4-5, Tom Vialle 3-8 and Max Anstie 10-4. In the championship points it was Deegan with Haiden Deegan 166, Vialle 132 and Brown 131.
