The world’s best Supercross athletes rolled into Marvel Stadium today for Press Day ahead of this Saturday’s Boost Mobile AUSX Open presented by Monster Energy, marking the 10th anniversary of Australia’s premier Supercross event.

Media were given their first look at the purpose-built AUSX Open track, with Jett and Hunter Lawrence drawing major attention as they returned home following a dominant year on the world stage.

“There’s nothing like racing at home,” Jett Lawrence said. “The Melbourne crowd is unreal — Press Day is just the warm-up. Saturday night is going to be wild.”

Hunter Lawrence: “It’s special to be here for the 10th anniversary. The track feels great already, we’re fired up and ready to put on a show.”

STACKED FIELD SETS THE PACE

A deep roster of SX1 and SX2 contenders joined the Lawrence brothers on track, including Dean Wilson, current SX1 Championship leader, Cédric Soubeyras, Phil Nicoletti, Luke Clout, Aaron Tanti, Dylan Walsh, and Hayden Mellross.

In SX2, Lux Turner, Shane McElrath, and Cole Thompson logged early test laps and rhythm checks ahead of Saturday’s racing.

Event ambassadors Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Brayton also suited up, giving media a rare chance to capture two of America’s most respected Supercross figures riding in Australia.

“This event is world class,” Cianciarulo said.
Brayton added: “The level here is as good as anywhere in the world — AUSX Open continues to grow every year.”

PRESS CONFERENCE SETS THE SCENE

Following track activity, the full rider lineup attended the official press conference, alongside AUSX leadership and key team representatives.

Updated rider quotes:

Hunter Lawrence: “We look forward to this event all year. We've been itching to get down here — we’re full of beans and ready to go racing. Jett, the boys on the line and I are hoping to put on a great show for everyone.”

Jett Lawrence: “I just want to make sure I put on a good race for the Aussie fans. It’s an awesome event in an unbelievable stadium. I always look forward to coming back, catching up with old friends, and just being around Aussies again.”

The Lawrence brothers enter the weekend after helping secure Australia’s second consecutive Motocross of Nations victory, with Jett also claiming his third straight SuperMotocross World Championship.

Despite his global success, one trophy still escapes him — an AUSX Open win.

“I’ve won almost everything except AUSX Open,” Jett said. “I need to lock in this weekend. Winning at home would mean a lot.”

Standing in his way is Hunter, the defending AUSX Open champion.
“Anything can happen,” he said. “We won last year, so we’ll try to go back-to-back — but it’s going to be tight racing.”

Dean Wilson, SX1 Championship leader, said: “I’m feeling good and healthy. When the body’s right, I ride well — so I’m looking forward to the weekend.”

SX2 leader Lux Turner added:
“I’m happy to be here in Melbourne at the biggest round. The track is good, and I’m excited to see how it races.”

SATURDAY SET FOR WORLD-CLASS RACING

The AUSX Open is the marquee and penultimate round of the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, featuring SX1, SX2, SX3, the KTM SX85 class and the Yamaha 65cc Cup.

Last year more than 42,000 fans packed Marvel Stadium, and this year’s event is on track for another strong turnout.
