The Lawrence brothers both won their heat races in the Aus X Open, and the huge crowd loved it. Carrying their country on their back and showing the world that Aussie supercross is the place to be.

Hunter Lawrence: That is the best way to start the night. I got a good start and the track is slippery, a lot different from last year.

Jett Lawrence: I haven’t come into the turn and braked way too late in the first turn. The track is good and we can’t wait for the superpole and the final. We just worked out some good lines and the track is very slippery.

Hunter Lawrence led the opening SX1 head from Matt Moss and Luke Clout, then Wills, Walsh, West, Jackson and Wood. Lawrence getting away from the two fellow Aussies. Clout all over Moss and looking for a pass.

Lawrence with a three second lead over Moss and Clout just not able to pass the veteran Aussie. Walsh also have a tough time to get close to Wills and the British MXoN rider 16 seconds off the leader. Lawrence looking very calm around this very interesting circuit. Lawrence wins from Moss and Clout.

In the second heat Soubeyras led from Mellross, Jett Lawrence, Harrison, Wilson, Tanti, Nicolette and Carafa. Lawrence into second place and going after the Frenchman. Lawrence made the pass on Soubeyras in a clean pass and undefeated on OZ Wilson still back in fourth place as he and Tanti passed Harrison.

Mellross a crash and back in seventh and on lap two it was Lawrence, Soubeyras, Wilson, Tanti, Harrison, Nicoletti and Mellross. Wilson all over Soubeyras for second. Lawrence really putting on a show for the Aussie fans.

Wilson into second with a nice pass on Soubeyras and Lawrence takes and easy win in the second SX1 heat. Wilson second and Soubeyras third.
