Loket 2005 - Gallery

Posted on June 30, 2022

With the Czech Republic Grand Prix just a 10 days away, I though it might be a good idea to go back in time and visit the event when the King of GP Stefan Everts was still racing.

I was going through some old files and looking for images for somebody for an old school story they are doing and I came across Loket 2005, when Antonio Cairoli wasn't yet a legend, and Stefan Everts was a year away from retirement. 15 years ago, and now we have Cairoli chasing down the Belgian kings records.

Suzuki factory rider Kevin Strijbos won MX1 with 4-1 results, while Everts was second with 1-4 and Josh Coppins third with 3-2. Cairoli would go 1-2 for the GP overall in MX2.

I wasn't the greatest photographer, but I wasn't bad either. I hope you enjoy the gallery below. Geoff Meyer images
