In front of 40,000 steaming hot spectators and in searing heat, South African Camden McLellan has won the MX2 class at the tough Belgian GP, at the Lommel circuit. The Triumph factory rider went 1-1 for a spectacular win, ahead of team-mate, Guillem Farres, who went 3-2 and Simon Langenfelder with 2-3 scores.

Temperatures in Belgium were up around 30 degrees, but the GP riders really put on a strong performance, despite Lommel being a circuit that just kills people.

MX2 Moto Two

Farres with the lead in the second MX2 moto, from Langenfelder, Everts, Grau, Coenen, McLellan, Grau, Reisulis, Kees, Zanocz, and Callemo in 10th. Lap two the top ten was Farres with a 2.7 second lead, then Langenfelder, Everts, McLellan, Coenen, Grau, Janis Reisulis, Karlis Reisulis, Karssemakers and Zanocz in 10th.

McLellan passed Everts to move into third place and Janis Reisulis passed Grau for sixth spot, and Karlis putting pressure on Grau. Mikula into 10th as Zanocz dropped to 11th. Farres opened the lead to around four seconds, and McLellan in third was 7.5 behind the leader.

Lap five and Langenfelder had closed the gap to Farres, with it being just one second, with McLellan four seconds behind in third. Then came Everts, Karlis Reisulis, Janis Reisulis, Coenen, Mikula, Callemo and Kees in 10th.

Langenfelder into the lead as he barged his way past Farres and McLellan all over his Triumph team-mate. McLellan into second place and both Langenfelder and the South African getting away from Farres, who has a seven second lead over Everts, who is fourth.

McLellan all over Langenfelder for the lead and the German having to do everything to stop the South Africans charge. Farres now only two seconds behind and watching the two fight for the top spot. McLellan into the lead, but Langenfelder fought back to regain the lead.

Top ten on lap 10 was Langenfelder, McLellan, Farres, Everts, Karlis Reisulis, Janis Reisulis, Coenen, Mikula, Callemo and Zanocz. McLellan into the lead and in a position to win the GP with a 1-1 score. McLellan quickly got away from Langenfelder, with Farres not far behind the German in second.

Farres into second place, dropping Langenfelder to third. McLellan wins the moto, from Farres and Langenfelder and the overall was the same.
