Camden McLellan has kept his championship hopes alive, even through those hopes are very slim, as the South African claimed the Grand Prix victory in China today. The Triumph team can head to Australia with 100% chance of taking their first motocross world championship.

McLellan went 1-2 for the GP victory, with series leader, Guillem Farres second overall with 4-1 results and third was Liam Everts with 3-3 results. The championship points gap is now 48 points, with Farres all but crowned the MX2 world champion of 2026. Guillem Farres 859 points, Camden Mc Lellan 811, Sacha Coenen 775, Simon Längenfelder, 767 and Liam Everts 742pts.

MX2 Moto Two

Langenfelder with the lead in the second MX2 moto, followed by Farres, Everts, Janis Reisulis, McLellan, Coenen, Karssemakers, Karlis Reisulis, Dennis and Mikula. Lap three it was Farres with the lead, then Langenfelder, Everts, Janis Reisulis, McLellan, Karssemakers, Karlis Reisulis, Dennis, Mikula and Grau, with Coenen out of the moto.

Lap five the lead by Farres was less than a second, with both Langenfelder and Everts close to the leader, with McLellan nearly two seconds off the pace. Farres getting away from Langenfelder and Everts, with McLellan closing right up on those two, then came Janis Reisulis, Karssemakers, Karlis Reisulis, Dennis, Mikula and Grau.

Langenfelder dropped to fifth place, placing Everts second, McLellan third and Janis Reisulis fourth. Dennis again showing good speed to be right behind Karlis Reisulis, who was holding down seventh place. Langenfelder passed by Karssemakers. Farres wins the moto and McLellan the GP. The championship is still alive as we head to Australia in a little less than a weeks time.
