MXGP Indonesia - Lombok
The 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship as flown across to Indonesia in Lombok for the MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara on the 29th and 30th of June. Checkout the Timetable and Entry Lists for the MXGP of West Nusa Tenggara below:
The Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) event which will be held at the former Selaparang airport circuit, Mataram, Lombok Island targets around 60,000 spectators divided into two series. This means that each series can attract 30,000 spectators.
The target audience was conveyed by the Director of the Samota Enduro Gemilang Project, Diaz Rahmah Irhani at the MXGP Press Conference, Monday, June 24, 2024.
"For our own target, it is 30,000 spectators per series, so the total is around 60,000. Almost 50 percent have been sold per series, especially series one, sales are more massive than series two," he said.
The preparations for the first MXGP series are almost 90 percent complete. The circuit and tents needed for the event have been built 100 percent.
"As we can see together, the riders' tents are already standing. However, there are still minor details that we need to complete, both in terms of the stage and so on. So if the preparation is 80-90 percent," he continued.
Then, for the racers who will compete in the 2024 MXGP Lombok event, there will be 24 racers in the first series, and 22 racers in the second series.
It should be noted that 90 percent of the racers are racers from Europe. However, MXGP does not close access to local racers if they want to take part in this MXGP event.
Diaz continued, to welcome the arrival of the racers in Gumi Sasak, a parade will be held to welcome the racers which will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 afternoon. Later there will be a procession from the Islamic Center to the Udayana Terrace.
"So later the riders will be paraded using bicycles, with cidomo, and there will be a show too," he added.
Meanwhile, for the security of MXGP, both in the first and second series, there will be security by around 800 police officers from the NTB Regional Police, Mataram Resort Police, Central Lombok Resort Police, West Lombok Resort Police, and KLU Resort Police which will start on June 27-30, 2024 in the first series, and July 5-7, 2024 for the second series.
As for growing the economic turnover of the community, hundreds of MSME tenants are provided which can be filled for free by more than 200 MSMEs in the city of Mataram.
