MXGP Lommel - Television
The 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship heads west to northern Belgium as the MXGP of Flanders welcomes the MXGP elite to the deep sands of the Stedelijk Motorcrosscentrum circuit on the outskirts of Lommel. Known as one of the toughest tracks in the world thanks to its relentless sandy waves and ever-shifting surface, Lommel promises an intense and unpredictable weekend of racing.
On track, MXGP World Championship leader Romain Febvre is being hunted down by teenage sensation Lucas Coenen, who will make his home debut in the premier class just ten points away from the series lead. Febvre has won two of the last four GPs held here, so the Frenchman will be a formidable opponent despite the partisan Belgian crowd cheering for their young hero. Adding to the drama, Jeffrey Herlings – one of only two riders to have won four GPs at Lommel – makes his surprise return from a collarbone injury to line up in Flanders.
In MX2, three riders remain locked in a tight Championship fight as the season enters its final phase. Current points leader Simon Längenfelder has climbed the Lommel podium in each of the last two years, but reigning Champion Kay de Wolf – last year’s winner here – is eager to reclaim points on his favored sand surface. Meanwhile, Italian former Champion Andrea Adamo has proven to be a dangerous threat in the deep sand, adding even more intrigue to the battle.
The MXGP of Flanders will also host the deciding round of the EMX125 European Championship Presented by FMF Racing, where Italian Nicolò Alvisi holds a narrow six-point lead over French prodigy Mano Faure in what promises to be a thrilling finale.
Off the track, Infront Moto Racing is pleased to announce the extension of its long-standing partnership with Telenet and its Play Sports channels, securing live coverage of the FIM Motocross World Championship for another five years (2026–2030). This agreement ensures Belgian fans can continue to enjoy every MXGP race and the acclaimed Behind The Gate series through Play Sports’ premium sports offering, which reaches over 1.4 million households and includes rights to the Premier League, Formula 1, ATP & WTA tennis, Bundesliga, and more.
David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing CEO: “This renewal underlines the strength of our collaboration with Telenet and Play Sports. Belgium has always been one of the most important countries for motocross, with legendary riders and a passionate fan base. Having MXGP available on Play Sports for another five years means we can continue to bring all the excitement of this amazing sport to millions of fans in Belgium. We are proud to be part of Play Sports’ premium sports portfolio and to continue growing the passion for motocross together.”
Vincent Stevens, VP Entertainment at Telenet: “We are delighted to bring the MXGP to our customers for another five years. This partnership has always been important to Play Sports, as it is a traditionally well-loved sport in Flanders. With a long-standing tradition of Belgian riders and a bright future ahead, this is the right move to service our loyal and appreciative customer base. MXGP deserves its spot in Play Sports’ rich portfolio of premium sports rights. As such, Play Sports continues to be the ‘Home of Motorsports’.”
Fans can catch all the action live and on-demand through the extensive list of global broadcasters and on MXGP-TV.com, which will stream every race, plus Saturday’s Time Practice sessions, along with the 26-minute Behind The Gate magazine show featuring the best race moments, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories.
