The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship – MXGP of China (Shanghai) to be held this weekend, will be an historical moment for the sport as an all new Chinese motocross bike will make it's long awaited appearance.

This motorcycle, the JHL machine will be on show and Brian Hsu and Yuzhang Li will compete in MXGP on LX350Rs, with Italo Medina, Haoyu Li, Hugh McKay, Jai Constantinou and Thanaret Penjan lined up for MX2 on LX250Rs. The official MXGP entry list, however, currently shows just four JHL riders.

Other than who is riding them, little is known about the machines, which JHL claims are built with leading components including D.I.D. chains, KYB suspension and Bosch EFI, along with top-spec engines from China.

The official press conference for the event was successfully held on July 19, signalling that all preparations for this year’s competition have officially entered the final sprint phase.

The conference announced that Chongqing Junchi (JHL), an indigenous Chinese motorcycle brand, will compete for the first time in the top-tier MXGP circuit as a factory team, marking a historic breakthrough for Chinese brands in the world’s premier motocross championship.

With Chinese brands like JHL Moto, ZXMOTO, Kove as well as CF Moto getting involved in MXGP in the near future, the factory bikes and factory rider lineups will only get bigger in 2027 and that says enough about how big the sport has gotten due to the work Infront have put into the worldwide television coverage.
