At the third event of the ADAC MX Masters at the weekend, Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing) and Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/KTM Kosak Racing Team) consolidated their positions as the clear leading duo in the championship. Nagl celebrated his third consecutive victory in Bitche and thus increased his lead in the table.

Van de Moosdijk scored his first race win of the season. Jere Haavisto (FIN/Schmicker Silve Racing) clinched his best result in the series so far with third place in France after two third places.

“After the perfect race on Saturday,” Nagl said. “Things didn't go as planned at the start of the second race. I was able to move up the field well, but I also took risks. When I was behind Roan, I was able to study him a bit and then make the decisive attack. When I got closer to Roan in the third run, he quickly figured out my tracks and used them himself. My alternatives weren't good, which is why I was satisfied with second place with a view to the championship. Overall, I'm very happy with the weekend.”

On Saturday, Nagl was unbeatable and scored a commanding lights-to-flag victory in the first race. Van de Moosdijk worked his way past Tom Koch (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/SHR Motorsports by Hartje) in the first third of the race to secure second place.

Haavisto pushed Koch out of the top three shortly after half-time and held this place until the finish. Peter König (D/KTM GST Berlin Racing) celebrated his best result in this class with fifth place behind Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing).

On Sunday, Koch won the Red Bull Holeshot in the second race, but Haavisto took the lead on the first lap. Nagl was a bit pinched at the start on the approach to the first corner and returned from the opening lap in eighth place. After the first third of the race, van de Moosdijk took the lead ahead of Haavisto and Koch, while Nagl steadily moved forward.

At the beginning of the last third of the race, Nagl pushed Haavisto from second place and then quickly reduced the gap to van de Moosdijk. In the final phase, Nagl prevailed in a spectacular duel and won ahead of van de Moosdijk, Haavisto, Koch and Spies.

In the third race, Talviku won the Red Bull Holeshot ahead of van de Moosdijk, Nagl, Nico Koch (D/Becker Racing) and Tom Koch. Van de Moosdijk overtook Talviku on the second lap, Nagl followed suit three laps later. At the halfway point of the race, Tom Koch and Talviku passed Nico Koch for fourth and fifth place. In the second half of the race, van de Moosdijk and Nagl at the front delivered a remarkable exchange of blows to the enthusiasm of the numerous fans.

Despite all his efforts, Nagl could not find a way past the Dutchman. Van de Moosdijk pulled away again in the final phase and crowned the race with his first victory of the season ahead of Nagl and Talviku. Tom Koch and Haavisto rounded out the top five.

Nagl extended his lead in the championship to 17 points with the victory in the event standings ahead of van de Moosdijk, Haavisto, Koch and Talviku. Already 50 points behind the second-placed team, Koch, Haavisto and Spies are only one point behind each other.

"In the second run, Max was simply better. That's why I really wanted to win the third race and I'm very happy that I did it. It was a hard piece of work, but it was worth it," van de Moosdijk was satisfied.

"I've been following the podium for so long and I'm very happy to have achieved it now. I have to work on getting three consistent runs in the future like here, then the result will be right in the end. The hard work with the team has paid off," said Haavisto, visibly moved.
