Round six of the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship headed to Canada Heights circuit in Swanley Kent. Renowned for its long uphill start, fast-flowing layout and the track's combination of hard-packed soil and light sand surface.

After the previous round the team were determined to make improvements and deliver a stronger performance, with the championship entering its latter stages every point was crucial. Both riders Oriol Oliver in the 450 class and Gyan Doensen took victory.

“It was top day yesterday at the British Championship not only for me but also for the team," Oliver said. "It was nice that me and Gyan could put it together and get the overall win. It’s also a well deserved for everyone in the team! We gained some points on Conrad and I am now second in the championship, we still two rounds to go so let’s see what we can. I will spend this week in England to prepare for Foxhills, it’s always good to race on new tracks and especially a track like this one, the goal is still getting near the guys in front and getting the starts.”

MX1 race one and Oriol Oliver grabbed the holeshot and led the field from the very first corner producing a flawless start-to-finish victory. He immediately put his head down in the opening laps setting a pace that quickly stretched the field and established a comfortable advantage. With the gap secured Oliver settled into a smooth rhythm ticking off the laps while controlling the race from the front and showing impressive speed and consistency.

Championship rival Conrad Mewse started deep in the pack and mounted an impressive charge through the field. By the closing stages he had reduced the deficit to just 1.8 seconds, but Oliver remained calm under pressure avoided any mistakes and crossed the finish line to claim an excellent race win.

Oliver got another superb start and claimed the holeshot once again leading the field into the opening laps, however the race was red-flagged on lap two forcing a full restart with all riders returning to the gate.

The Spaniard executed another excellent start in the rerun and completed the opening lap in third place Watson ahead and Conrad Mewse just behind. By the end of lap five Oliver had worked his way into second and was rapidly closing the gap to Watson, just one lap later he made the decisive pass for the lead.

Setting his fastest lap of the race shortly afterwards Oliver found his rhythm and controlled the remainder of the moto from the front. Mewse stayed close throughout applying constant pressure but Oliver never put a wheel wrong showing speed, composure and intensity he held firm to secure a perfect 1-1 score and claim his first overall MX1 victory of the season.

Opening MX2 race and Gyan Doensen got a strong jump out of the gate carrying good momentum up the long start straight to emerge from the first turn in second place just behind Charlie Heyman. After settling into the race Gyan quickly found his rhythm and began closing the gap to the race leader, with track offering few overtaking opportunities patience was key as he waited for the right moment to make his move.

On lap five Doensen seized his opportunity to pass and take over the lead and showed his intensity and broke Hyeman. From there he controlled the race with a composed and strong ride managing the gap to perfection and securing an impressive moto victory.

The final MX2 moto of the day saw Gyan get another strong start although he wasn't as well positioned through the opening turn as he had been in race one. The opening lap he was around eighth place and he quickly settled into his rhythm and began making steady progress through the field flowing well and choosing excellent lines Gyan made passes to move into fourth place.

In the closing stages four-way battle for the lead developed between Gyan, Brookes, Askew and Rizzi with just two seconds separating them, knowing that a fourth-place finish would be enough to secure the overall victory Gyan rode a smart avoiding any unnecessary risks. He brought it home in a solid fourth place which was enough to take the overall.

Gyan Doensen: “It was a fun day at Canada Heights I finally got a win again and a podium, it was even better going 1-1 with Oriol. I was riding good and I had fun while racing with the boys all day. I am now second in championship which is great, so let’s keep the ball rolling into Foxhills this weekend for MX2. A big thank you to the team!”

Shaun Simpson - Team Manager: “What a day to turn things around at the British Championship at Canada Heights with the team’s first double overall victory in both MX1 and MX2. This is the best I have seen Gyan ride at a British round this season. He was flowing with the track, taking good lines and his intensity was high. This overall victory will do him the world of good mentally heading into the final stages of the season. Oriol stepped it up this weekend, we made good decisions on the starting position and pulled two holeshots. He was riding strong and to beat Conrad Mewse straight up in moto two was definitely a statement. The championship is down to 16 points so it’s definitely game on with two rounds to go.”

The entire Gabriel SS24 KTM team are delighted with the performances of both Gyan and Oriol whose speed and consistency demonstrated what they are capable of, by claiming both overalls and three of the four moto wins making it a memorable weekend. In the MX2 Championship standings Gyan moved up to second place after overtaking both Ben Mustoe and Tommy Searle. He now sits 57 points behind championship leader Charlie Heyman and holds a 30-point advantage over Ben Mustoe in third. In the MX1 Championship Oriol also climbed to second in the standings thanks to his dominant 1-1, he now trails championship leader Conrad by just 16 points while holding a 17-point advantage over Ben in third setting up an exciting battle for the remainder of the season.

A huge thank you to KTM and all of our valued sponsors for your unwavering support throughout the season. Your trust, dedication, and commitment to the team continue to motivate us to push harder at every round, both on and off the track. The team's attention now turns back to the World Championship as they head to Foxhill, England for their home MXGP. It will be round 12 of the championship for Oriol while with no EMX250 class on the schedule Gyan will step up to compete in the MX2 category for the weekend. The action gets underway on 18–19 July and the team is looking forward to taking on the challenge in front of the home fans.
