Thomas Olsen in for Matterley

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna factory rider Thomas Olsen has been given the green light from the doctor to race this weekend's opening round of the FIM World MX2 motocross championship. The 2019 MX2 runner-up faced a tough time recently with his training injury. Team manager Rasmus Jorgensen gave MXlarge an exclusive on the hand injury.

"Got the green light to race on the weekend from the doctor," Jorgensen said. "So, it will be one day on the track before the first GP. If all goes well on the turn track, we will try a session on a normal track, but it will be with very little preparation, and we just hope for the best."

"To be honest, I am not one to lie and to hide things, it is what is it. Thomas has been off the bike now for five weeks. He got the green light to start slowly and hopefully we can ride a bit before and save the championship for the end of the year."

With Ben Watson also suffering a hand injury in the pre-season, two of the heavies go into Matterley a bit under done, but with 20 rounds in the championship, more than enough time to come back from a slow start.
