OZ Motocross - Next Round
The 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) is building towards a thrilling second half, and all eyes are turning to the challenging Loy Yang Park circuit ahead of round six on Sunday, July 12.
Following the recent fifth round in Appin, NSW, the nation’s best motocross riders will descend on Traralgon for what promises to be an exhilarating day of racing. After a spectacular maiden ProMX appearance in 2025 that delivered unforgettable battles – including a fierce MX1 duel between Jed Beaton and Kyle Webster – the regional Victorian venue is ready to raise the bar once again.
Spectators can expect more bar-to-bar action across all classes on a track famed for its dramatic gradient changes, punchy straights and relentless rhythm sections. With championship standings on the line, round six is poised to play a major role in deciding the 2026 titles.
The round also marks the return of the EZILIFT MXW class, which has been absent since round one in Wonthaggi. The battle between Honda’s Charli Cannon, Yamaha’s Lachlan ‘Lala’ Turner and Kawasaki’s Taylah McCutcheon is set to be even more explosive, as all three riders have been contesting the ultra-competitive US Women’s Motocross Championship before they fly home to resume their Australian title fight.
The vastly experienced Traralgon Motorcycle Club will again be hosting the round, with the event proudly backed by the Latrobe City Council, whose ongoing support continues to showcase Gippsland as a premier motorsport destination.
Latrobe City Council Mayor, Cr Sharon Gibson, said: It’s wonderful for Latrobe City to play host to the ProMX Championship for the second year in a row,” the Mayor said. “It will be a great spectacle for motor enthusiasts of all ages, with the best riders in the country vying for a place on the podium. Council is proud to support the event through our sponsorship of Motorcycling Australia and a community grant to the Traralgon Motorcycle Club. I congratulate the Traralgon Motorcycle Club and volunteers for their hard work in making sure the event is a great success.”
Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle, said the entire ProMX community is counting down the days until gates drop at Loy Yang Park.
“The 2025 Traralgon round was everything we hoped for and more – jaw-dropping racing, massive crowds and overwhelmingly positive feedback from riders, teams and fans. With the championship fights really heating up, round six will be crucial, and I have no doubt the Loy Yang Park circuit will deliver another unforgettable spectacle. I thank Latrobe City Council for its continued passion and commitment to presenting the Australian ProMX Championship in its most professional light.”
With the championship already delivering high octane action in the early rounds, the Traralgon stop shapes as a must attend event for Victorian motocross fans.
