Paris Supercross - History

In March 14 and 15 of 1984 the beginning of what would become the golden event of the European off-season and one of the biggest motorcycle events in the World would see what was the introduction of the Bercy Supercross.

Run at the then very fresh Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy, the first Supercross of Paris Bercy was born, and the Parisian public received a shock since never before had such a show come to the French capital of Paris.

Cheerleaders, rock and roll, light games, animations and stars of European cross and American supercross was at it's rendezvous. The Americans ridiculed the Europeans, some of whom were convinced that they use very special motorcycles (with, for example, a special two-speed gearbox) for the occasion.

Johnny O'Mara and David Bailey, two legends of American cross country, imposed themselves while a young kid named Ricky Johnson becomes the darling of the public thanks to his sense of show.
