After a successful theatrical release on over 650 screens in North America, Australia and New Zealand, “Pay Dirt: The Story of Supercross” will be available for rent or purchase on all major, worldwide platforms today, July 18th, 2025.

Narrated by Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (Netflix’s “Brothers,” Marvel’s “Avengers Endgame”) and featuring the incredible rockstar racers of Supercross from the film “Pay Dirt: The Story of Supercross," is a wild ride of murder, mystery & adrenaline.

In January there was a Supercross star-studded world premiere at the Anaheim Opener (the launch of the 2025 SMX World Championship Series) in Anaheim California, “Pay Dirt: The Story of Supercross," bringing murder, mystery and the adrenaline of Supercross, with a quote from Brolin below, plus poster and trailer.

Josh Brolin commented, “I don’t like when movies try and dictate how you should feel,” explained the world-renowned actor. “Do you know what I mean? You just get what you get. When people are good at what they do, I think a lot of people respond to it. It’s settled in. This movie is not preachy at all. It’s not telling you how to feel. It just is what it is, and I think people really respond to honesty.”

Monkey Wrench Films is behind the release of one of the most fascinating stories in pop culture in the new documentary “Pay Dirt: The Story of Supercross," which made its global theatrical premiere in January 2025. Directed by multi-Emmy winner Paul Taublieb (producer of the $200 Million earning box office hit “The Vow,” starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams), the documentary explores the electrifying story from the beginning days of the sport of Supercross in 1972, including Michael Goodwin, a man who created the sport and is now serving a double-life sentence without the possibility of parole for murdering his ex-business partner. Featuring the biggest names, past and present of the most underappreciated, demanding, and dramatic motorsport on the planet.

Relying on the twin pillars of cinematic camera work and deep archival research combined with in-depth interviews of virtually everyone who’s had an impact on the sport, including Hall of Fame legends Jeremy McGrath, Bob Hannah, Ricky Johnson, and Ricky Carmichael.
