Prado - Another Injury

World MXGP champion, who has struggled in the opening two rounds of the 2025 AMA supercross championship has injured himself in the qualification for round three at A2.

Its an unfortunate continuation of Grand Prix riders trying supercross. How bad the injury is, is not yet known, although it seems his shoulder popped out and he will miss tonights racing.

Jorge Prado: I overjumped the quad a bit and went into the berm. I tried to grab myself on the net and I didn't have anywhere to go and as soon as I grabbed it, I popped out my shoulder. Its a shame, as it wasn't very big, with the net on the berm, I couldn't avoid it and I grabbed it and my shoulder came out. 30 seconds later my shoulder was popped back in. Its feeling good right now, not very painful, but I need to sit it out and wait and see how it is, tomorrow or Monday. We checked at the Alpinestar centre and nothing is broken, so I need to get an MRI and see how that is. I am pretty confident it isn't too bad, but it is what it is.

The Spaniard has been around 15th place and well down on the speed of the fastest supercross riders. Prado had said leading into the 2025 season how good he felt on the Kawasaki, but a pre-season injury and now this shoulder injury.

After the injury in the off-season Prado mentioned, "I expected to be riding more, I took my time off after the last GP, but as soon as I got back I had a little issue there and then I had another issue when I got back. It wasn’t a smooth beginning, but now we have two weeks and some days on the bike and there is progress and we made some changes to the bike. I am very happy and we have all year long and I have a lot to learn. For the little time I have had, I am happy."

"Outdoor tracks are pretty cool here. I think all of them are cool, I cannot say one, even Unadilla looks super fun with all the ruts, even though they told me it isn't the best, because its harder, and stones and stuff. Even racing Daytona, I think that will be super sick, kind of a sand race. Hopefully we can make it through the whole championship safe, that is the goal to get the experience."

We all wish the Kawasaki factory rider a quick recovery and hopefully, he is back for some supercross races in no time, and can also show his real speed when they get to the AMA Nationals.
