Jorge Prado - Crash and Injury
MXGP World champion, Jorge Prado didn't attend the AMA supercross media days this week, and it seems that a minor injury is the reason. According to RacerX editor, Jason Weigandt, rumors suggest some crashes at the test track have resulted in time off the bike for the Spaniard.
It is understood he suffered a concussion and hit his arm pretty hard, making his Supercross intro a typical story of GP riders in the past heading to USA.
Having raced all of 2024 in MXGP and hardly crashing, and always looking super smooth, no wonder so many GP competitors don't do the US thing. Is the risk worth it to change your career momentum? Let's hope Prado can get it sorted and come back with some good results in supercross and then be ready for the AMA Nationals.
“We did not get Jorge Prado this week," Jason Weigandt said on his Weege Show. "There are some rumors of some crashes at the test track for Prado. It is early days in Supercross development for him, and just from some of the scuttlebutt I’m hearing, it has not been super smooth. Crashing is never good, and this is a work in progress in supercross. We could be here next year or in two years and he is flying at the test track. It's just going to take a bit."
You would imagine with only a month before A1, the time off the bike might put a spanner in his preperation, hopefully he can take it easy in the rounds he does race and come into the AMA Nationals with some time testing for motocross and put in a 100% effort there.
