RedBull GasGas factory rider Jorge Prado took an easy win in the Saturday MXGP qualification race in Switzerland today, after taking the lead early and cruising to victory. Second was Tim Gajser and third Jeffrey Herlings.

Jorge Prado: I mean, it is very warm today and it is way warmer than this morning. We already knew what to expect with the track. I made some good passes and its good for the championship. Lets go on with tomorrow.

Prado with the holeshot, but Ruben Fernandez with the lead ahead of Seewer, Prado, Renaux, Gifting, Gajser, Koch, Herlings, Forato and Spied in 10th. Seewer all over Fernandez and trying to do a Gifting in Sweden. Geerts crashed and way back. Herlings and Gajser in fifth and sixth and catching the front pack. Herlings was nearly last on the first corner after another horrible start, but made up spots quickly.

Gajser into fourth and now chasing Prado, but Renaux moved back past Gajser but then Gajser back into fourth. Seewer slipped over and dropped to seventh. Very difficult looking circuit for these guys. Herlings into fourth, so its Fernandez, Prado, Gajser, Herlings, Renaux, Gifting, Seewer, Forato, Horgmo and Pancar.

Fernandez under huge pressure from Prado and the Spaniard takes the lead. Prado quickly two seconds ahead of Fernandez, with Herlings losing ground on Gajser, who moved into second place after passing Fernandez. The gap is now 4.3 seconds as Prado trying to cut that points lead even more. Febvre back in 15th after possibly being involved in the first corner crash.

Fernandez making life difficult for Herlings, but the Dutchman did eventually move into third place, but is eight seconds off Prado and the lead and five second back from Gajser. Renaux now all over Fernandez and both showing great speed for their first race back after months.

Seewer moved past Fernandez, who had also been passed by Renaux and now back in sixth place. On lap eight the top ten was Prado, Gajser, Herlings, Renaux, Seewer, Fernandez, Forato, Horgmo, Coldenhoff and Pancar.

Prado riding very well, with a gap between himself and Gajser was five seconds and 12 seconds ahead of Herlings. Forato back in ninth after a crash and has Febvre on his back wheel. Coldenhoff into sixth as he passed Fernandez, who continued to drop down the top ten. Horgmo also passed Fernandez. The top ten in the final stages of the race were Prado, Gajser, Herlings, Renaux, Seewer, Coldenhoff, Horgmo, Fernandez, Febvre, and Forato 10th.

Prado wins it from Gajser and Herlings and obviously the points gap is now eight between Gajser and Prado, with Herlings losing a point on the series leader.
