Sasha Coenen - Quickest In MX2
Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen has topped the opening MX2 free practice session with a time of 1.55.345, followed by defending champion Simon Langenfelder with 1.56.948 and Valerio Lata next quickest.
With 29 riders in MX2, the first free practice of 2026 opened with Sasha Coenen coming up with the quickest time, but Noel Zanocz from Hungary then topped the chart with a 2.00.120 time, of which Coenen turned up the heat and put down a time of 1.56.917 to go to the top again.
Looking through the class, obviously Andrea Adamo, Thibault Benistant and Kay de Wolf are missed and it’s a pretty thin class if I am honest. Guillem Farres of the Triumph team went second quickest with .59.124 and his team-mate, Camden McLellan did a 1.59.514 for third quickest.
Defending champion, Simon Langenfelder was back in ninth spot with a time of 2.00.630, which now seems like a cruising lap time. Valerio Lata went to second quickest with 1.58.611 and Liam Everts moved to fourth quickest with a 1.59.254, but nobody close to the Coenen time.
Farres repassed Lata for the second quickest time with a 1.58.214, but still more than a second slower than Coenen, then Mathis Valin went 1.57.734 to go to second, but Coenen did a 1.55.345 to be more than two seconds quicker than Valin. Langenfelder went to sixth fastest with a 1.59.471, some four seconds slower the Coenen.
A good time by Janis Reisulis with a 1.56.923 and now second behind Coenen, with Langenfelder doing a 1.56.948 and third quickest. The top ten times mid-season, were Coenen, Reisulis, Langenfelder, Farres, Valin, Everts, McLellan, Lata, Mikula and Valk. Langenfelder went 1.56.051 to be just half a second slower than Coenen.
