Simon Langenfelder - Fly Gallery
RedBull KTM factory rider, Simon Langenfelder still holds the red plate going into Sweden this weekend, but the pressure is mounting as defending World MX2 champion Kay De Wolf starts to make momentum with major points hauls on the last couple of rounds.
Laengenfelder has a 38-point cushion at the top of the MX2 contest, but with the home GP for De Wolf coming in Arnhem in 10 days time, you just know that a big score in Sweden is needed, if the German rider wants to become the first German World motocross champion since Ken Roczen, way back in 2011.
“Difficult weekend. I really needed to push hard in that second moto to secure the 4th place because there was quite a lot of pressure from riders behind me. I lost some points today but I would say on a bad weekend we learned the most. We’ll make the most of the free weekend to look ahead to Sweden, which is an awesome track.”
