TF 450-X 2027
Triumph Motorcycles presents the new TF 450-X 2027, which arrives with a series of updates developed in competition and focused on better control, handling and more precise chassis response.
Developed through Triumph's global racing programme, the new TF 450-X benefits from a revised engine calibration to improve torque delivery, rear wheel connection and handling. The revamped engine is anchored to the chassis by new engine mounts, while the new cylinder head incorporates new valve guides and rocker shafts revised with DLC coating; A new clutch assembly and various improvements to the shifting system optimise durability, engagement and precision when upshifting and downshifting.

The revised KYB suspension setting, with new tool-free regulators, improves balance, control and response for the rider. A new 50-tooth sprocket optimises acceleration and exit from corners. The new independent stop-start switches update the controls available to the rider and add to other improvements such as the new fork guards, the chain-guide, the all-black bodywork and the 2027 graphics to complete the novelties of this model.
Following its debut season in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross with the Triumph Factory Racing team, the TF 450-X faces its next big challenge in 2027: the brand's jump to MXGP, the premier class of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Steve Sargent, Product Manager at Triumph Motorcycles, said: "The TF 450-X has completed its first season of competition at the highest level, providing our racing and engineering teams with valuable experience in demanding racing conditions. What we learned through this racing programme has directly influenced the 2027 model, with improvements in power delivery, gear shifting, chassis performance and rider feel." "The success of the TF 250-X has shown what Triumph is capable of achieving at the highest level of motocross. Now, we look forward to transferring that experience to the 450cc class, with the TF 450-X coming to MXGP in 2027."
ENGINE DEVELOPED FOR COMPETITION
For 2027, the TF 450-X incorporates an updated cylinder head and revised engine calibration, which improve torque delivery, connection to the rear wheel and handling. A revised strategy for limiting the engine's maximum rpm further improves response and the new valve guides feature a renewed design and are made of a high-wear-resistant material to increase durability. Meanwhile, the rocker axles, with DLC coating, have been optimised to improve long-term reliability and stability at high revs. The engine is now anchored to the chassis by new mounts, optimised for greater rigidity and chassis control. All these modifications improve the rider's comfort in demanding racing conditions, while increasing the response and information transmitted to them by the chassis.
Rated at 62.4hp at 9,500rpm thanks to its advanced 450cc SOHC engine, the TF 450-X features premium components such as its König forged piston, Del West titanium valves and DLC-coated internals, as well as lightweight magnesium covers and a fully machined combustion chamber.
The new clutch assembly, with improved bearings to increase durability and improve feel when actuating the clutch; As well as the profound upgrade of the gearbox, which includes a new selector, drum, star, positioning arm, selector shaft and gear lever, they allow for smoother and more precise gear changes under load. In addition, the new development with a 50-tooth crown improves acceleration and exit from corners, and the chain guide also features revised material and geometry to improve resistance to potential side impacts and reduce the risk of the chain slipping off. As a final complement to the transmission system, a new porthole makes it easier to control the oil level.
UPDATED KYB SUSPENSIONS
Looking ahead to 2027, KYB suspensions incorporate revised adjustments to both the front and rear to improve balance, damping control and rider response. The 48mm AOS fork, with new guards and new tool-free regulators, together with the rear shock with three-way adjustable piggyback external reservoir, allow quick adjustments to the suspension, even on the track itself, to adapt to different conditions. The new fork protectors, more resistant and durable, have a renewed design applying improvements derived from the racing equipment.
PRECISE CHASSIS AND RIDER CONTROL
The key point of the entire chassis is the Triumph chassis in ultra-light aluminium, with a central spine and double cradle, with a design that centralises mass, construction with TIG welds, hydroformed swingarm and a forged and machined linkage system. The high-precision Neken seatposts made of lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum offer more precise steering and better front end feel, with ergonomics designed to facilitate the movements necessary in aggressive riding.
FACTORY-GRADE COMPONENTS AND TECHNOLOGY
The TF 450-X combines race-developed engineering with top-notch components selected for their performance, durability and rider control. Its lightweight and strong D.I.D DirtStar 7000 Series aluminium rims withstand continuous impacts at race pace and are combined with Pirelli MX32 tyres, medium-soft compound, to offer excellent grip and predictable behaviour on soft and intermediate terrain. The ProTaper ACF handlebar with carbon core, the ODI grips with attachment system and the seat form an optimised ergonomic triangle between handlebars, seat and footrests; while the seat height of 960mm favors freedom of movement and control by the pilot.
The complete Brembo brake system, combined with high-performance Galfer discs, offers constant stopping power, feel and modulation. The Athena ECU with GET Power Assist technology integrates traction control, Launch Control, Quickshifter and two engine maps as standard, allowing riders to adapt the bike to different conditions and preferences. On the 2027 model, the rider controls are updated with new independent start/stop switches, while the optional Wi-Fi module, combined with the free MX Tune Pro app, provides access to a total of ten engine maps.
NEW GRAPHICS AND ALL-BLACK BODYWORK
In 2027, the TF 450-X features all-black bodywork, with Racing Yellow accents and updated graphics typical of this year's model. This darker and more energetic finish reinforces the bike's strong competitive character, as well as reinforcing its more defined and contemporary aesthetics.
