Thanks Romain - Kawasaki

Together Romain and Kawasaki achieved numerous successes, most notably the MXGP title in 2025. Now - after seven years of fruitful cooperation - Romain Febvre and Kawasaki part ways but the legacy remains.

During seven seasons riding the Kawasaki KX450-SR, Romain secured one gold medal (2025) and three silver medals (2021, 2023, and 2026) in the world's most prestigious motocross series MXGP. Whilst it's always difficult to compare eras, he is the most successful of all the riders to have represented Kawasaki during the last thirty years.
Here are the numbers:

  • He finished in top-five in the world in every season with Kawasaki other than 2022, when he was only able to compete in eight of the eighteen GPs after recovering from a fractured leg at the end of the previous season
  • Having competed in 114 of the 132 MXGPs held between 2020 and 2026 he finished 223 of the 226 races he started; a ratio of 99%.
  • With 65 podium finishes over these seasons, he will remain the best performer in Kawasaki history, ahead of Sébastien Tortelli (39 podiums) and Christophe Pourcel (27 podiums).
  • With 29 overall GP victories he is the second most successful GP winner for the Green team behind Sébastien Tortelli who won 42 rounds, half in 125 and half in the 250 class.

Steve Guttridge (KME Race Planning Manager):“Personally I’ve worked with Romain since he joined Kawasaki inside both of our factory KRT MXGP team infrastructures which meant alongside different management and technical staffs, and to me his clearest comment was always consistent - that was that he loved his KX450 bike. Looking back on the stats that was clearly the case as in MX such consistency over such a long duration and at the highest level in World competition (MXGP) is very hard to achieve! For me I will remember Romain inside KRT as an out-and-out racer – no nonsense…and a never-give-up attitude that can neither be taught nor contained! I'd like to express my sincere thanks to him and his crews over those seasons together for always giving 100% both on and off the track, which resulted in so many podiums and good racing memories for all the Team Green fans.”
