Honda SR Motoblouz rider Thibault Benistant, who crashed on the weekend at the French Grand Prix has provided the following update. It seems to be good news for the Frenchman and we all wish him good luck in his recovery.

Shortly after the start of the first moto, Benistant collided with two other riders who clipped handlebars. He went down heavily mid-lap and lay motionless on the track.

He was treated trackside by medical staff and subsequently airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Toulouse. Benistant successfully underwent surgery in Toulouse. He noted on his personal social media that his T3/T4 surgery went well.

While his SR Motoblouz Honda Team noted it is too early for a definitive timeline, the rider has shared that he is beginning his rehabilitation process.
