Triumph - Enduro Success
Triumph Motorcycles is celebrating an outstanding first season in the FIM EnduroGP World Championship with third, fourth and fifth in the Enduro1 category plus two top 10s in the EnduroGP standings. Adding to impressive results at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), three national championship victories as well as its achievements in indoor and hard enduro events, the newly launched TF 250-E has delivered multiple successes in its inaugural year of competition.
Entering a completely new segment, Triumph kicked off its campaign at the highest level of enduro with strong performances. At the opening round in Portugal, the TF 250-E was immediately competitive; the new enduro machine took four top 10s in EnduroGP over the two days, and two podium finishes in the Enduro1 class with riders Mikael Persson, Jamie McCanney and Morgan Lesiardo.
It set the scene for a very respectable debut season, where Triumph-mounted riders clinched 15 podium finishes in Enduro1 over the seven rounds of competition. Triumph Racing Italia’s Lesiardo finished the season in third, with Triumph Factory Racing’s McCanney in fourth, and Persson fifth, despite missing the final round due to injury. Persson also concluded the year seventh in EnduroGP, with Lesiardo one place behind in eighth position. A season highlight was when Lesiardo took a 2-1 finish in Enduro1 at the penultimate round of the championship in Italy, his home race, taking Triumph’s first class victory in the EnduroGP World Championship and with it an EnduroGP podium in second.
In addition, both Persson and Lesiardo enjoyed strong outings at the prestigious International Six Days Enduro. Persson delivered to help Team Sweden to their first podium in 17 years in second position, while Team Italy took a very popular home victory at the Bergamo venue, adding to the TF 250-E’s ever-growing list of accolades.
In the domestic championships, McCanney clinched the ACU British Enduro Championship title with Persson a close second; Triumph TF 250-E machinery dominated the season overall. McCanney also took the British Sprint Enduro title, while Lesiardo took Enduro1 honours in the Italian national enduro series earlier in the season.
Further strengthening the TF 250-E’s credentials has been Jonny Walker, who finished on the podium at every round in the 2025 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship on his way to second in the series. The popular British star took an outstanding sixth place finish against the traditional 2-strokes at the notoriously difficult Red Bull ErzbergRodeo, while also finishing as runner-up at the Red Bull Tyne Ride. Jonny recently debuted the TF 450-E in AMA EnduroCross, winning the opening round with a 3-1-1 finish across the three races.
Ian Kimber – Head Of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles
“We are very proud of everything we’ve achieved in enduro this year. Launching our first off-road bike last year and our extensive international racing programme was a huge undertaking, and we were excited to step into the various types of enduro competition in 2025. Against some very established teams and riders, we achieved an awful lot in EnduroGP with both the factory team led by Paul along with the Italian team. To finish the season where we have with bikes that are not far away from stock, bar a few specific race parts, is testament to the work done in development as we brought the bike to market and by the teams in the pre-season. Miki was unlucky to be unable to finish the season off after a really consistent year, and we must say thanks to him for everything he’s achieved. Jamie took the British championship, and Morgan secured our first class victory in Enduro1 and EnduroGP podium, as well as the Italian national Enduro1 title. Not only that, but Triumph machinery also helped deliver the Men’s World Trophy at the ISDE and a second place for Team Sweden. We believe that’s an excellent result for a manufacturer entering the segment for the first time. In addition, the results at Erzberg and indoors really substantiates the strength of the platform we have, and we’re really looking forward to the future where we can evolve on what we’ve learnt so far. A huge thank you to all of the teams and riders for all of their effort this season, we can definitely be pleased with our first year in enduro.”
Jamie McCanney
“Riding for Triumph in their first year competing in world enduro was a real honour for me! I’ve worked with the team now for a few years on the durability side, so to see the bike develop through to the machine I have raced all year has been really special. To sit on the start line each weekend as a factory rider for such an iconic brand has been an incredible experience, and I’d like to thank everyone at Triumph who has made this possible. The results this year speak for themselves, with two British titles wrapped up and Mikael fighting for second overall in Enduro1 until his injury. There aren’t many brands who have been so competitive in their first year of releasing a bike, so it shows how strong the TF 250-E is right out of the box. Unfortunately, my year didn’t go completely as planned due to injuries. Saying that, to win two British championships for the first time in over 10 years has been awesome, and I’m really happy with that.”
Mikael Persson
“Being a rider for Triumph in the team’s first year of EnduroGP competition was a challenge, but I felt like we had a really good base after a strong winter training program. As well as actually racing as much as possible, we have been developing the TF 250-E all year at the same time to maximise its capability. My season was going really well until I picked up my knee injury in September, but I’m super proud of what I achieved up until that point. It has been a privilege to be trusted to ride for a new brand in the sport in their first year, and I’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve managed some really strong results, with multiple runner-up finishes in Enduro1 and myself finishing fourth overall at the ISDE. For the bike to finish six days with absolutely no issues is testament to how reliable it is, and for it to help me achieve Sweden’s first podium in 17 years was definitely a highlight of the year for me. Overall, it’s been a great season and I’m happy with what we have achieved.”
Morgan Lesiardo
“I was really excited and proud to be selected for this new project with Triumph Italy alongside the JET team. We worked hard to make the best bike possible in a short time this off-season, and I think we did an amazing job. From the start, I really liked the handling as it’s so light and easy to change direction, and the engine really caught me with its power. It’s been super competitive all season, in all terrain and all weather conditions. This has been my best season ever, winning the Italian Championship, the Six Days with Team Italy, and finishing third in the World Championship with my first-ever GP win at home in Italy. The 2025 ISDE was something I will never forget. To win in front of our fans and families was pure emotion. My bike was perfect all six days through rain, sun, and dust. Taking the first-ever GP victory for Triumph at my home race was a dream come true. I’m really proud of what we achieved and thankful to Triumph Motorcycles Italia and the Jolly Enduro Team for all their great work. See you in 2026.”
Paul Edmondson - Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager
“Overall, I think it’s been an amazing season! Looking at the bigger picture, we started this relationship a long time ago working with the production bikes, so to come all the way through to racing the new enduro bikes this year is amazing. What we have achieved with the TF 250-E is incredible. All of our bikes have finished every day of racing at world and national level competition, so you can’t get a better example of reliability. We’ve picked up a few domestic titles along the way too! The highlight for me has to be the 2025 International Six Days Enduro, where after six days of intense racing, Mikael Persson and Morgan Lesiardo finished fourth and fifth overall respectively aboard their TF 250-E machines. Looking ahead to 2026, I feel that we are already very well prepared. We have learnt so much about the bikes this year, and we can’t wait to put all that knowledge to good use over the winter and into the 2026 season.”
