HRC factory rider, Jeffrey Herlings is a six time world motocross champion and Guillem Farres is heading towards his first world title. Here are rider comments from Turkey.

Jeffrey Herlings: Wow. What a ride it’s been to win this sixth world title. Even since my last one in 2021 to finally get number six is just an incredible feeling. Joining Honda HRC PETRONAS on January 1st and everything being new, new bike, new team, new gear, and it hasn’t always been easy but I think you can see all the work that we’ve done and you can see the results on the track. Just so glad to have made it happen and a big thank you to the team and to my friends and family who have supported me through some tough times.

Tom Vialle: "It was a great weekend overall. I was struggling a little bit in the last laps of the first race, so we made some bike changes for the second one, small things, but they helped me a lot and I felt way more comfortable. My first mistake was at the start. I had a really great jump out of the gate but I went a little too wide, and Jeffrey [Herlings] passed me right there in the pit lane. I gave everything I had all race and I didn’t know if I was going to make it, because Jeffrey was pushing hard. Every lap I told myself, okay, one more lap. I pushed until the last lap, but he didn’t make many mistakes, he stayed really strong. It’s still my first year, so these races are really important for me, seeing what Jeffrey does on the track, and I’m trying to learn as much as I can."

Tim Gajser: “The speed was there, but I was in too much pain while riding. Considering the circumstances, it was definitely a decent weekend. It’s just a shame about that mistake in the second race, which allowed two riders to pass me. I managed to overtake one rider again, but that was as far as I could get. The track became increasingly tricky and the pain was getting worse as well. So I decided to settle for fourth and secure the result. Still, I’m a little disappointed because I narrowly missed out on the podium. I think I deserved that podium this weekend, but that’s motocross.”

Guillem Farres: “Yeah, it was a good weekend here in Turkiye. I got good starts in both races and in moto two I had a much better pace than in moto one, so I was able to manage the gap for the win. So yeah, I’m really happy. The whole Triumph Factory Racing team did an amazing job and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you.”

Camden McLellan: “Overall, it wasn’t too bad of a day. I finished third and fourth in the two races, which isn’t terrible at a track I normally struggle at. I had a better feeling than yesterday and did what I could, but third and fourth in the motos was the maximum today. Now I’m looking forward to China and Australia. Hopefully I can get a little bit more out of myself there, but overall, it was a good weekend.”

Romain Febvre: "I feel that if I could start at the front I could battle for the win, but with the starts I got again here I'm happy to be third. The other fastest guys are starting 1-2 every week and I am in the pack, so I have no chance to catch them; by the time I get to third they are gone. I needed to work hard to come back every time; you can pass the slower guys but it gets really hard to pass anybody who is near your speed. The start is so important, especially here, and the results do not show what I can do. On the positive side it was a good day for the championship."

Pauls Jonass: "It was a good Sunday with my third top-five of the year; the speed was already good yesterday but the crash cost me a better result. Today I took two good starts; we still have some work to do to stay with the front four. I was happy with my riding this weekend and it would be nice to carry this on through the last two GPs."

Liam Everts: “It was a solid day overall. I struggled a little in the first moto, but we made some small changes to the suspension and I felt definitely better in race two. I was still missing a little bit of an edge, but my riding was consistent and I was always there. To go 4-2 and take another overall podium – my third in a row – is really positive, so I’m happy to be back on the box again.”

Andrea Adamo: “I’m not super-pumped about my weekend. Somehow this track has not really suited me, and I missed some speed to run with the guys up front. I should have been closer. 5th was OK in the first moto but I was struggling a bit with the circuit and need to feel out some things with the bike. I’ll go home now for two days before going to China and Australia. It will be tricky for the jetlag - and the heat last year was tough - but it will be a challenge.”

Simon Laengenfelder: “The last few GPs have been quite tough for me so getting that win felt good. I gave it my all in first race and it was my first win since Sardinia: it’s been a long time! I was 3rd in that second moto but stalled the bike and then everyone had their position. The track was also a bit sketchy. 2nd overall day is fine and now I’m looking forward to the flyaways in China and Australia. It’s always a bit different [at those races] and nice to change things up.”

Sacha Coenen: “A difficult day. I was not feeling good this morning and it was hard to focus and even hard to really look ahead on track. I’m lucky to not get injured after that crash. One to forget and we will try again.”
