Two Brothers - One Title

I don’t think anyone is looking forward to the start of the 2025 AMA Nationals more than the two Aussie brothers, Hunter and Jett Lawrence. Both out injured at the moment, but working hard in the background to return for the opening round of the series and crush their competition.

With multiple AMA titles, both riders will enter the Pala opener with question marks, and how their race speed and endurance is, but you just know, they work harder than anyone else in the sport and when it comes to talent, they might also be number one and number two in USA.

Of course, we all remember last time they raced a motocross track, when Team Australia took out the 2024 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations at the Matterley Basin circuit in England, but racing in America, against the American's, well that is another story all together. Thrown in a World MXGP champion and a tough German veteran and the work just gets tougher.

No doubt, names like AMA Motocross Champion Chase Sexton, MXGP World Motocross Champion Jorge Prado, and veterans and former AMA champions, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, Ken Roczen, Jason Anderson and Aaron Plessinger will want to fight for victories. Below is how the two brothers are feeling with just a few weeks to go before the American 450 Motocross Championship begins.

Hunter Lawrence

We were recently laughing about it. We are riding through the suffering period, where you just suffer, before it starts to get easier. It isn’t getting easier yet, its still just the suffering. It is just groundhog days. It is good though, we are happy to be riding and looking forward to May 24th, the first round of the outdoors.

There is only one spot better than what I did last year and that is why I am suffering my butt of every single at the moment and have been. Dude, I am coming in positive, being healthy is obviously key. Trying to do everything I can and leave nothing on the table, in training and preparation for this 2025 outdoor season.

Jett Lawrence

It’s been difficult. A lot of people when you get injured, you just go sit on the couch and do nothing and the first week of that might have been so, in fact, it was more like three days honestly of sitting on the couch in pain, but then for the next four weeks, I was in at Doctor G for about five hours a day, trying to get this knee back to 100% for outdoors, so I could get back racing. It is a bummer I get an injury in the first place, but its built my stronger, and I am just looking forward to getting back to the outdoors and get back racing. I want that adrenaline rush again. Its been a tough road, but its going to be worth it.

I mean, I don’t expect anything less from myself, I want to come back in at be where I was before. I want to run up front and that is where I feel most comfortable. Like Hunter said, we are both putting in the work and doing everything we can to come back and be a title contender. I still have the same standards. For SMX last year, we had like three weeks to prepare this time we have five weeks to get ready for Pala.
