Van De Moosdijk Wins ADAC
Roan Van de Moosdijk celebrates his first victory in the ADAC MX Masters. Simon Längenfelder finishes second with the 250 cc motorcycle. Jörgen-Matthias Talviku on the podium again.
Tensfeld. Warm temperatures and a deep sand track made for challenging conditions at the ADAC MX Masters in Tensfeld. With Roan Van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team), the numerous fans witnessed the fifth winner of the season. He prevailed in the three races against world championship leader Simon Längenfelder (D/Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team) and Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (EST/JMT Esttrans Yamaha Keskus Racing Team). Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing powered by Krettek) defended his championship lead with sixth place.
Just one week after a heavy crash, Roan Van de Moosdijk clinched his first event victory in the ADAC MX Masters. In Saturday's race, he finished third behind Hakon Fredriksen (NO/Lukes Racing - Hertrampf Group) and Nagl. On Sunday, he won the second race, although he completed a large part of the race without a functioning rear brake. Fourth place in the third race behind Fredriksen, Längenfelder and Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) was enough for Van de Moosdijk to win in Tensfeld.
"Unbelievable to achieve my first overall victory just one week after the crash in Bielstein. I couldn't train all week. The weekend in Tensfeld was very exhausting and difficult for me. But I fought and gave everything. That paid off and I'm very happy about it," said Van de Moosdijk.
Simon Längenfelder competed in the ADAC for the first time since his championship in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and finished second on his debut in the premier class. The ADAC Stiftung Sport-Pilot was on his 250 cc motorcycle with less displacement than the competition and was therefore at a disadvantage at the start. On Saturday, he worked his way up to fifth place behind Spies in the course of the race. In each of the two Sunday races, he finished second, which also earned him second place overall in Tensfeld.
"That was a mega weekend! We have made great progress with the set-up of my KTM for the upcoming World Championship rounds in the sand. The course in Tensfeld is very special with the many jumps and therefore very demanding. To finish directly on the podium in my first outing in the ADAC MX Masters class is great," beamed Längenfelder.
Jörgen-Matthias Talviku improved after sixth place in Saturday's race in the following races. With third place in the second race ahead of Gert Krestinov (EST/Motoxtreme Honda) and Victor Alonso Rodilla (E/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG), he achieved his best result of the weekend. Fifth place in the third race was enough for him to stand on the event podium for the second time this season. He scored one point more than Fredriksen, who won the third race after a retirement in the second race, and Spies, who rounded off the top five in Tensfeld.
"I had a lot of fun at the track, but it was still a tough weekend. I worked hard with my team on the suspension set-up, which helped. I had good starts and consistent races, everything went well. I'm happy to be on the podium again, as I was in Dreetz," Talviku said with satisfaction.
Max Nagl had to work his way up from the back of the field in both Sunday races. He still retains the lead in the championship, but his lead over Van de Moosdijk has been reduced to 24 points. Spies, Talviku and Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team), who won all the Red Bull Holeshots at the weekend, follow in the other places in the standings.
